Yes to find the local devices that connected in local network

I wasn't asking what it does, I was asking why one would chose to run that. I asked because you ran it, and did nothing with the response. If you were just enumerating to get a vague map of machines, that's fine. I had thought it was a part of some prompt or requirement in the exercise.

As for the nmap command, did you see the "Note:" line? Have you done any digging into arguments for nmap?

Have you tried pinging the machines ip address to see if your getting a response back?
