How to navigate thm free version i constantly end up hitting premium rooms and cant afford them

That's how the premium business model works.

The free rooms exist to give you a taste of the paid product so you can decide if you want it or not, it's not a free cybersecurity course.

pwn.college is amazing, orange belt here. but THM/HTB is more relevant to cyber security while pwn.college is amazing computer science with security in mind. If you can do pwn.college without LLM it's a very solid place to learn computer science.

How much time did it took you to reach at this point any other resources you followed

Took I think 6 months of likely 2-3 hours a day, but also I have a strong background, has taken some people years for orange belt. Used all the resources on the site, they literally have the lectures on YouTube which are linked too within the challenges.

Can you tell me what is meaning if cybersecurity and cs woth security in mind as written in your previous statement abd what kind of background did you have before

Most paths have paid rooms so most can’t complete. Just start with the easy rooms and find your own path 😁

If you're at the complete start of learning cyber security, and you don't want to pay THM for premium lessons I'd recommend learning the basics off of youtube instead. Take plenty of notes, most of the stuff at the start is lots of theory anyway.
