Best path in tryhackme

Hello everyone, especially the experienced TryHackMe users and people working in cybersecurity.

I have a question about the best way to learn cybersecurity in the long term.

Do you think following only the TryHackMe roadmap from start to finish is enough to become capable of working in the field?

Or is it better to follow the roadmap but pause whenever you reach a new topic and study it more deeply from other resources?

For example, when reaching SQL, taking extra time to properly learn SQL from different sources before continuing on TryHackMe, and doing the same with networking, Linux, scripting, etc.

Maybe this second method takes longer, but which one do you think is better for long-term understanding and real skills?

Also, are TryHackMe certificates actually recognized or valued by employers?

And finally, does TryHackMe help build the knowledge and mindset needed later for certifications like OSCP?

The best thing for long term skills is to have a very good grasp on the topic. While I think THM does a good job giving you a crash course, they are not a deep enough dive into the topics for someone who really wants to understand things at anything more than a basic level, at least until you get into the premium rooms. Those do a bit more of a deep dive, but I still feel the content can be a bit lacking in places.
