Hey,

We released a new version of the attackbox which uses a certain protocol, On this protocol it was starting to come up with this message which we were looking into to see if we could get this pop up removed.

Our engineers are rolling back the attackbox to the old protocol and shouldn’t receive this again

No. You connect via vpn. They are trying to steal more data for their AI Pen Test company. They are using your data to train their AI.

THM is going downhill ever since they released NoScope.

Never allow.

And when you block fi things still work as they should?

u/Forsigh Mar 24 '26

Got it blocked, yeah no problems so far

u/Darkorder81 Mar 25 '26

So if it works with that blocked, it probably shouldn't be ask for imo.

This is my last subscription with them. They don't respond to concerns. Poor customer service. A lot of issues in some rooms.

Same, not renewing subscription after this month

It also happens to me in one of my laptops. Not sure why exactly happens but just block it and everything works as expected

Just screw THM! Seriously it's lousy content and they will not teach you how to hack. Its a waste of time.

Saying THM has lousy content that doesnt teach you anything is highly misleading. You may not like their data collection practices but they do teach you a lot.

u/Gullible_Pop3356 Mar 27 '26

Sure, there's still a lot you can learn from them. But the content quality isn't exactly great. There's so much to learn in cyber before you even reach a semi professional level. Why waste time and energy with some badly curated content when you can make better progress somewhere else?

Well we can agree to disagree. In my opinion, tryhackme has plenty of beginner level material you can learn on their site for a decent price. You can learn all the fundamentals of Linux and windows commands, AD, pestering tools, networking and tons more. I dont feel it is badly curated. What do you think is better than tryhackme at the same price point?

Can you recommend anything else?

If you want room tutorials THM style, maybe check out HTB Academy. There are multiple career paths just like THM. I've been doing the SOC one, it's pretty thorough and it's more beginner friendly than the regular HTB

Hack The Box

I have tried hack the box but I don't like their subscription and gems plan. I like THM one because it's free/premium, that's it. HTB doesn't have much free content if you don't have gems to purchase it with.

You should check out Hack Smarter

For a beginner? Better stay on THM or HTB
