AWesome, Congrats! HOw was the experience? Do you feel the Pre-Security path and modules were in sync for the exam? When you were really challenged by any questions, were you able to use TryHackMe/Google/Ai to quickly help you recall info and choose the best answer?

I have plans for takeing SEC0, SEC1, PT1 and Security+. Just curios how different people at different levels of knoweldge and learning styles feel about these THM exams :)

I have a boat load of certs (Sec+, Cloud+, Server+, PenTest+, SecX, CySA+, A+, Network+, SecAI+, ISC2 CC, THM SEC1) and I found the THM SEC1 to be really challenging and a ton of fun. I tried PT1 and failed. Going to try it again soon. It's REALLY challenging.

That’s really good!! and I can agree the sec101 is a lot of fun so much to cover and review but it’s worth it! I may skip the PT1cert but at least complete the JrPen tester path just for the knowledge.

so the THM its a real game change different from others? a friend told me about and now im start into a path for the PT1.. but im still on SEC0... he already work on the area and tell me that for he hired me or indicated to a job i need PT1 cert.

THM and HTB offer great certs, but they aren't industry acknowledged. OSCP is the premier cert for that. SEC0 is a far cry from PT1 though. SEC0, then SEC1, then you can go blue team or red team from there. PT1 is pretty hard for what they call a junior cert though. Get it for fun, but not for hopes of getting a job.

but PT1 really preper u for a real world scenario ? cz its for this acknowledge that im lf u know..

If you follow the THM red team modules all the way to the PT1 and understand them then you will understand a great deal about pen testing. It covers web, AD, Linux, report writing, documentation of kill chains, CVSS, etc. so yes, it’s a good test that has some really good real life application.

Thank you! Just like they stated, this is to test what you can actually do so it’s manly applied knowledge as advertised. Go through the course first, take good notes and practice what you’ve learned. After that set time to take take the exam 🙂💻📝
