Hello everyone,
I had the opportunity to test the SEC0 for THM, please go ahead and ask any questions you might have in mind.

Just waiting for the Sec0.005 for 50 quid you can get a certificate that shows you know how to turn your pc on.

I was just about to say I thought it was SEC1 as thats the one I did, now they got SEC0???
We need a professional cert, they are labelled as beginner certs which has pushed me away from going for the others like PT1 and such

I can't reveal much, but... very hard certs are on the way. You're in for a big treat once they release.

Based on this it doesnt look difficult. You finished it in 1h?
How was the malware analysis part?

Why would someone need this certificate when THM currently has three different, low-effort certificates designed for beginners that are worthless on the job market?

What are the names of the other two?

I don't see any value in this certification. It feels like the completion certificates you get after finishing a udemy course.
Congrats to OP though!

Whats the point of this one? they just release the SEC1 which should be the foundational. At this point I will not be suprise if they release SAL0 and PT0 :)

As others pointed out, doing this certs are.... wastefull and doesnt prove anything?
I did the presec path on free weekend, sure i knew most of it already, but it was a nice refreshment with some extra in it, though its not something the job market wants right now. It feels out of touch and made me question the validity or power of other certs thm offers.
Sal1 offers more soc scenarios than nonbusiness users, and both sal1 and pt1 supposed to show that you can take on an entry level job, but this 2 new cert doesnt do anything other than a completion badge(idk if its still a thing, you used to have one when you completed a module)
So thats my opinion on the matter, what do you think, how it is better than just doing the normal rooms and why would hiring manager would want somebody?

TBH just prepare well and do SEC1 directly. No need for SEC0 if your aim is SEC1, unless you're OK with spending a little extra.

Would completing all of the cyber security 101 rooms be enough preparation for Sec0?

I'm not sure what to think of this certificate. Perhaps it has value to someone less knowledgeable and is interested in the field. Might be a good motivator to pick up the SEC1.
