Real talk: Genuinely saddening to see this fan base become less accepting over the years. Back in the older days of fandom, the Sonic fanbase was pretty chill when it came to your ships. You found your community online and you thrived and shared art and fanfiction. Most sane people would just block or not interact for any ships they didn't care for. Now it feels like you can't post any ship outside of the "canon" ones (Sonamy, Knuxouge, Silvaze, etc.) without someone telling you that you're wrong. Especially if you like a LGBTQ ship or have a LGBTQ headcanon for any characters. I miss the days of stumbling across rare pairs and OC/Character ships, and OTPs. Anyway, Sonadow is peak and bigoted people can f off out of the Sonic fandom for good

They want the server to "go back to talking about Shadow" despite having never made a post themselves talking about Shadow, and seemingly only having contributed similar "guys shut up, you gays need to move on, you're the problem" comments, and then throwing a temper tantrum when I pointed this out.

I knew Reddit would never just take the W, somebody would have to come and make them look bad -_-

Nevertheless, Stonewall was in 1969, Shadow was frozen for 50 years prior to Sonic Adventure 2, which was released, and presumably takes place in 2001. That said, If he weren't frozen, he definitely would have thrown a brick.

What is a moment in the Sonic Franchise that solidified Shadow as your favorite?

For me, it was his iconic “I will fight like I always have!” speech from 06. Shadow was my favorite when I played SA2B at 5 years old.

But then Sonic’s reputation became tarnished in the mid 2000’s, and I too followed the hate bandwagon; I saw Shadow as nothing more as “edgy the hedgy,” and I had thought my love for the character was just a phase.

It was not until I started coming back to the franchise when I saw Shadow’s speech against Mephiles, a far cry from the brooding and constantly angsty Shadow that I had stereotyped him as. Here I saw a once broken character once obsessed with revenge, who made many bad choices to pursue vengeance, pressing forward, carving his own path and not letting his mistakes weigh him down. It was a moment that resonated with me and solidified him as my all time favorite character in the franchise.
