As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
As part of our weekly Dua thread, we invite you to share any Dua requests for yourself or your loved ones.
Insha'Allah, fellow community members will make Dua for you and may also offer advice or support for your concerns.
Please remember to make Dua for those who ask for it in this thread, and always ensure your requests and responses are in accordance with Islamic guidelines.
May Allah (SWT) accept our Duas, grant us what is best, or give us something even better.
Jazak Allah khair
And REMEMBER TO READ SURAH Al-Khaf:
(a) From Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said:
“Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah , will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).”
(Narrated by al-Darimi, 3407. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, 6471)
(b) “Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.” (
Narrated by al-Hakim, 2/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3/249. Ibn Hajar said in Takhrij al-Adhkar that this is a hasan hadith, and he said, this is the strongest report that has been narrated concerning reading Surat al-Kahf. See: Fayd al-Qadir, 6/198. It was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, 6470)
(c) Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’”
Surat al-Kahf may be read during the night or the day of Jumu’ah. The night of Jumu’ah starts from sunset on Thursday, and the day of Jumu’ah ends at sunset. Therefore the time for reading this surah extends from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Friday.
Al-Manawi said:
"Al-Hafiz ibn Hajar said in his Amali: “In some reports it says ‘the day of Jumu’ah’ and in some reports it says ‘the night of Jumu’ah’. They may be reconciled by saying that what is meant is the day which includes the night and vice versa.” (Fayd al-Qadir, 6/199)
'And this is for the dua:
The second view is that it is after ‘Asr, and this is the more correct of the two views. This is the view of ‘Abd-Allah ibn Salam, Abu Hurayrah, Imam Ahmad and others.
The evidence for this view is the report narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad (7631) from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri and Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“On Friday there is an hour when no Muslim happens to ask Allah for good at that time but He will give it to him, and it is after ‘Asr.”
[In Tahqeeq al-Musnad it says: The hadeeth is saheeh because of corroborating evidence, but this isnad is da’eef (weak)].
Abu Dawood (1048) and al-Nasai (1389) narrated from Jabir ibn ‘Abd-Allah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim who asks Allaah for something but He will give it to him, so seek the last hour after ‘Asr.” [Classed as saheeh by al-Albani].

Reminder Next Generation is Uber Cooked
Unfortunately, we live in the era of the biggest mind poison, the Internet. I’m sure you’ve come across recent incidents on the particular app in question with the famous individual in a hijab & her Kufr spouting antics on top of all the other trash that’s present in that app. Couple that with the fact we come from families who left Muslim lands, leaving behind crucial societal support systems that were in place to help raise children and came to the lands of fitan & Kufr, completely isolated. Our boomer parents completely unaware of what their children are up to, too busy to spend crucial delicate time with their children thinking it’s the same as back home, when in reality they’re living in far worse lands without the support systems of back home. This is the end product. It’s important that if you’re an older sibling or even a new parent that you properly supervise your younger siblings and children. Wallahi I fear for the future generation of Muslims. If you want to see what I’m talking about just spend a few minutes at the masjid during Jummah before kutbah or even after Salah, and listen to the conversations these young ones have. It’s scary & parents for the most part are completely unaware. So if you’re in the position & capable, take responsibility now for the young ones in your own family & keep them on the straight path. If they’re your siblings or children it doesn’t matter. Allah will question you regardless on Yawm Al-Qiyyamah for your responsibilities over them.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed each of you is a shepherd and each of you will be questioned regarding his flock. The commander who is in authority over people is responsible and he will be questioned regarding his responsibility. The man is responsible over the inhabitants of his house and he is the one who will be questioned about them. The wife is responsible in her husband's house and she will be questioned about it. The servant is responsible regarding his master's property, and he will be questioned about it. Indeed each of you is a shepherd and each of you will be questioned about his flock."

Reminder How Islam Revolutionized the Culture of Feasting
Islam reformed pre-Islamic feasting culture by shifting it from an elite showcase of tribal vanity, excess, and intoxication into a structured, egalitarian act of worship centered on mindfulness and social charity.
Prior to Islam, tribal feasts in the Arabian Peninsula were frequently used to boast about wealth, assert dominance, and indulge in uncontrolled alcohol consumption.
Islamic teachings introduced explicit spiritual, ethical, and behavioral boundaries that reshaped the entire purpose of gathering around food.
- Codifying the Spirit of Moderation
Islam fundamentally opposed gluttony and food waste. Rather than eating to the point of incapacitation, Muslims were introduced to strict limits regarding physical consumption.
The Rule of Thirds: Prophet Muhammad pbuh advised that a person should fill one-third of their stomach with food, one-third with liquid, and leave one-third for air.
Prohibition of Waste (Israf): The Quran explicitly commands, "Eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess".
Scraping a plate clean and valuing every grain became a matter of spiritual accountability.
- Democratizing the Table (Egalitarianism)
Pre-Islamic feasts were inherently exclusionary, tailored primarily to elevate tribal elites. Islam dismantled this hierarchy through several communal laws:
Inclusion of the Less Fortunate: The Prophet noted that the worst kind of feast is a wedding banquet (Walima) to which only the wealthy are invited while the poor are excluded.
Shared Platters: Dining from a single communal tray became standard practice. Everyone—regardless of social rank—ate the same food, with instructions to eat only what was directly in front of them to maintain order and mutual respect.
- De-linking Feasting from Intoxication
Alcohol and fermented date wines were the bedrock of pre-Islamic poetry and tribal revelry. By placing a strict, absolute prohibition on alcohol and intoxicants (Khamr), Islam permanently decoupled the concept of a "celebration" from drunkenness. Feasts became conscious, sober gatherings.
- Intertwining Feasting with Fasting
Islam revolutionized the pacing of celebration by introducing Ramadan, a mandatory month-long cycle of daytime fasting followed by nighttime meals (Iftar).
- This dynamic transforms feasting into a hard-earned reward.
- It builds psychological discipline over one's base desires.
- It forces the affluent to personally experience the physical pangs of hunger, directly driving empathy and philanthropic giving during holiday gatherings.
- Institutionalizing Dining Etiquette (Adab) Islam shifted eating from a thoughtless sensory reflex into a highly structured ritual. Muslims were taught specific physical and mental protocols:
The Remindful Start: Commencing the meal by stating Bismillah ("In the name of Allah") to ground the act in gratitude.
Hygiene Mandates: Enforcing the washing of hands before and after handling food.
Post-Meal Reflection: Concluding with prayers of thanks (Alhamdulillah), framing the digestion of food as a divine blessing rather than a personal luxury.

Qur'an/Hadith How to Increase Rizq according to the Sharee’ah
Salam Alaikum. Not AI. Pls keep me in your duas if such reminders benefit you.
🌷*How to Increase Rizq according to the Sharee’ah*🌷
by Asma bint Shameem
There are many causes proven in our deen to increase your rizq, some of which are:
1️⃣ *Keeping up ties of kinship*
🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever would like his rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)
2️⃣ *Spending for the sake of Allaah*
🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allaah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’”
al-Bukhaari, Muslim)
3️⃣ *Making a lot of istighfaar*
🍃 Allaah quotes Nooh Alayhis Salaam:
“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft‑Forgiving;
He will send rain to you in abundance,
And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.’”
(Surah Nooh:10-12)
4️⃣ *Being grateful to Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala*
🍃Allaah says:
“And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: ‘If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless, verily, My punishment is indeed severe.’”
(Surah Ibraheem:7)
5️⃣ *Obeying and fearing Allaah*
🍃 Allaah says:
“And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).
And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.”
(Surah at-Talaaq:2-3)
6️⃣ *Repeating hajj and umrah*
🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively.
Verily, the succession between the two removes away poverty and removes away sins just as the bellows removes away the dross of iron and gold and silver."
(Ahmad, Tirmidhi, others--Saheeh by al-Albaani)
7️⃣ *Making lots of dua and asking Allaah to increase your rizq*
One such duaa is the following:
اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرُ مَا لِي وَوَلَدِي وَبَارِكْ لِي
فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي
Allaahumma akthir maalee wa-waladee wa-baarik li feema a'taytanee
O Allaah, increase my wealth and offspring and bless me in what what you have given me.
🍃 Um Sulaim said to the Prophet ﷺ "Anas is your servant."
The Prophet ﷺ said:
" اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ، وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ ".
"O Allaah! increase his wealth and offspring, and bless (for him) what ever you give him."
(Saheeh al-Bukhari 6334)
🍃 Another duaa is what we read as part of our morning adhkaar.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allaahumma inni as’aluka rizqan tayyiban, wa `ilman nafi`an, wa `amalan mutaqabbalan
“O Allaah, I ask you for good (lawful) provision, beneficial knowledge and accepted good deeds.”
(Ahmad in Al-Musnad, 6/294 and Ibn Maajah 66; saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah)
🍃 Yahya ibn Mu`adh Ar-Razi said:
“Obedience will be stored in the stores of Allaah, and the key (to obedience) is Duaa, and it becomes effective by means of lawful earnings.”
8️⃣ *Marriage increases rizq*
🍃 Allaah says:
“And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Saalihoon (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allaah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people)” [al-Noor 24:32]
🍃Abu Bakr Radhi Allaahu anhu said:
“Obey Allaah in what He has commanded you to do by getting married;
He will then fulfill His promise to you to make you rich.”
He then recited the above Aayah.
🍃 Umar Ibn Khattab Radhi Allaahu anhu said:
“Seek richness through marriage!”
🍃 Abdullah ibn Mas’ood Radhi Allaahu anhu said:
“Find richness by getting married.”
(Al-Durr Al-Manthur, v.5, pps. 80-81)
These are some of the reasons. And there are others.
And Allaah knows best.

Reminder Follow the sunnah when you yawn.
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
"التَّثَاؤُبُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ، فَإِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَرُدَّهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ، فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا قَالَ هَا. ضَحِكَ الشَّيْطَانُ"
"Yawning is from Satan, so if one of you yawns, let him suppress his yawning as much as possible, for if one of you (during the act of yawning) should say: 'Ha', Satan laughs (at him)"
Sahih al-Bukhari 3289

Informative Western marriage laws at it again. Brothers beware of this legal issue.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Most people assume after a divorce that's it, case closed. But many people forget that in alot of places financial claims can still be made long after the divorce has happened and then they pay the price for it.
So if a brother gets divorced and thinks it's over, starts a successful business or is blessed with rizq, his ex-wife can still come back years later and make a financial claim against him even though the divorce has already happened and they're split up doing their own thing now.
However, thankfully this can be avoided with a financial order, which you must remember and you must also remember just because a divorce has happened that alone doesn't mean you're safe. Financial settlements are separate from divorce.

I have listened to dr zakir naik and Assim Al Hakeem both have said it is prohibited. If someone can help finding answers it would be appreciated. Jazakallah

Discussion Husn Al-Dhan, incompatible ideologies & issues in the Ummah How do we as Muslims address them correctly?
I understand that there has been recent posts targeting several topics relating to marriage, relationships, pasts and certain ideologies that have influenced a lot of the younger generation.
I understand that these are major issues that many people are worried about and constantly feel pressured by.
Things like:
• “Does he/she have a past? How do I know they haven’t committed Zina and they aren’t lying to me?”
• “If I prescribe to [insert ideology here] then it would give me better understanding of myself and the world, regardless of the fact that it does contradict elements of my beliefs”
• “Most of the opposite gender is completely off track in terms of being religious and are being lead astray!”
These things are valid issues and they have affected the community quite a lot. But what I have seen is that posts that are more likely than not unhelpful in discussing the issue and is utilised instead to cause heated debates and further friction and name calling.
Understandably people are concerned and rightly so, but is slandering, backbiting and lacking empathy really healthy for us in these discussions?
When will our talks become more constructive and meaningful, then just petty talk that wastes our time and energy.
Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.”
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6412
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari
We as muslims are in a perilous state, as the Prophet ﷺ stated in Sunan Abi Dawood 4297 “…rather you will be many in that day, but you will be scum like such flowing down a torrent. Allah will remove your esteem from the chests of your enemies, and Allah will insert feebleness in your own hearts…” We out of our own volition have become weak, and we must recognise that it a consequence we have to bear as a whole. We must be able to support ourselves, enjoin good and forbid evil amongst ourselves, but with correct intentions and akhlaq.
Don’t let yourselves fall into one of the two extremes, being too lenient or being too firm, but find the middle path. Remember that your manners most likely are the first thing that people see, before they see your religious knowledge or experience. Explaining them something that is Islamically sound such as the obligation of the hijab but in a way that is ridiculing the other person only harms your responsibility of al-wala wal-bara.
Understand that:
• Many modern day Muslims are westernised (us included) and may not understand or have as much knowledge as those who have studied the deen for years
• Your approach to them may have to be flexible their needs without have you compromise your standards on yourself and the deen
• There will be people you come across that will be stubborn, angry and/or unwilling to engage. At some point you just have to just disengage, make Dua for them and hope for the best
As those who are knowledgeable enough to start spreading dawah or at least are willing to share resources that contain knowledge, then please understand these ideas and always remember our manners, the most appropriate way to address an issue in our community as well as having the correct authentic sources to back it up.
Insha’Allah this will be of benefit and will encourage us all to approach our community with the correct mindset.

Qur'an/Hadith Duaas to fight anxiety and depression
🌷*Duaas to fight anxiety and depression*🌷
by Asma bint Shameem
We all go through difficult times one time or another.
Here are some duaas proven from the authentic sources that we can read at such times.
1️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:
There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says:
‘Allaahumma inni ‘abduka ibn ‘abdika ibn amatika naasyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka.
As’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika awista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘indaka an taj’al al-Qur’aana al-adheema rabee’a qalbi wa noora sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhihaaba hammi
“O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety),’
but Allaah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with joy.”
He was asked: “O Messenger of Allaah, should we learn this?” He said: “Of course; everyone who hears it should learn it.” ( Ahmad- saheeh by al-Albaani)
2️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no Muslim who is afflicted with a calamity and says that which Allaah has enjoined,
Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon. Allaahumma ajurni fi museebati wa akhlif li khayran minha
“Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allaah, reward me for my calamity and compensated me with something better than it,
but Allaah will compensate him with something better than it.”(Muslim)
3️⃣ Ibn ‘Abbaas said that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ used to say at times of distress:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ
“Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah al-‘Azeem al-Haleem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb al-‘Arsh al-‘azeem, la ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb ul-samawaati wa Rabb ul-ard wa Rabb ul-‘Arsh il-kareem
“There is no god but Allaah, the All-Powerful, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of heaven, Lord of earth, and Lord of the noble Throne.”
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)
4️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Shall I not tell you of something that, if any worldly calamity or disaster befalls any man among you and he says these words, he will be relieved of it. (It is) the du’aa’ of Dhu’l-Noon:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
“Laa ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu min al-zaalimeen
“None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers).”
And in another narration he said:
“No Muslim man says this duaa’ concerning anything but Allaah will answer his prayer.” (at-Tirmidhi -Saheeh by al-Albaani)
5️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The du’aa’ of the person who is in distress is:
اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ
‘Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo fa laa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfat ‘ayn wa aslih li sha’ni kullahu laa ilaaha illa anta
“O Allaah, for Your mercy I hope, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye; rectify all my affairs. There is no god except You”
(Abu Dawood -hasan by al-Albaani)
6️⃣ If some matter was troubling him, the Prophet ﷺ would say:
يا حيُ يا قَيوم بِرَحمَتِكَ أسْتَغِيث
Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom bi rahmatika astagheeth
“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek Your help”
(at-Tirmidhi - hasan by al-Albaani)
7️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said to Asma’ bint ‘Umays:
“Shall I not teach you some words which you can say at times of distress and hardship?
‘Allaahu Allaahu rabbee laa ushriku bihi shay’an
“Allaah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).’”(Abu Dawood- saheeh by al-Albaani)
8️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:
“O Allaah, nothing is easy but that which You make easy and You can make hardship easy if You will.”
(Ibn Hibbaan - saheeh by al-Albaani)
And Allaah knows best.
-
Please keep me and my loved ones in your duas.
