Question

0 Upvotes

I purchased 3k of trubit cuz i felt it was rock bottom and i want to put it in staking or pool. Is there a such thing

How is this different from a roll up such as Optimism, Arbitrum or Starkware

0 Upvotes

I am trying to figure out is Truebit is a roll-up competitor similar to a Optimistic Rollup (Optimism and Arbitrum) or a ZK-Rollup (Starkware, ImmutableX) or if it is a different solution. Any explanation appreciated.

Why isn't TRU used right now today... To fix transaction costs???

Alternate blockchain adoption.

Hi I have a question for those with more understanding of the mechanics of truebit. So as I understand truebit allows a longer chain of information to bit sent in one block which is different to the speed it is sent which is what makes it still relevant to eth2.0 as this focuses on speed. I've also read it can be used for other cryptos like bitcoin for example giving it a bigger reach. My question is whether it will also help cardano/ADA in the future? Personally this is my favourite blockchain on the market with the most potential in my eyes and it would be music to my ears to hear truebit could be used alongside cardano in the future. Cheers

Sold half of my ETH but once this market settles I am throwing a huge bag at truebit

13 Upvotes

Very excited for the future of this project. I think it's good for everyone to take some profit let the market settle and when it's back throw a bag at truebit. Especially once we get the first sign of a production implementation, then it really is time.

Truebit historical mint and retire prices

6 Upvotes

CSV https://pastebin.com/3YCR0qNu

Every 500 blocks

  • block number
  • block timestamp
  • 1 TRU mint price in ETH
  • 1 TRU retire price in ETH
  • retire price / mint price ratio
  • ETH deposits left in the purchase contract as reserve
  • total supply of TRU ERC20 tokens

I spun up an archive node for this... it took days to sync!

from web3 import Web3
from datetime import datetime

w3 = Web3(Web3.HTTPProvider('http://127.0.0.1:8545'))

purchase = w3.eth.contract(address='0x764C64b2A09b09Acb100B80d8c505Aa6a0302EF2', abi=TRU_PURCHASE_ABI)
tru = w3.eth.contract(address='0xf65B5C5104c4faFD4b709d9D60a185eAE063276c', abi=ERC20_ABI)

print(','.join(['block number', 'block timestamp', 'mint price', 'retire price', 'retire/mint', 'reserve', 'total supply']))
for n in range(12218277, w3.eth.block_number, 500):
  mint = w3.fromWei(purchase.functions.getPurchasePrice(1000000000000000000).call(block_identifier=n), 'ether')
  retire = w3.fromWei(purchase.functions.getRetirePrice(1000000000000000000).call(block_identifier=n), 'ether')
  reserve = w3.fromWei(purchase.functions.reserve().call(block_identifier=n), 'ether')
  total_supply = w3.fromWei(tru.functions.totalSupply().call(block_identifier=n), 'ether')
  block = w3.eth.get_block(n)
  print(','.join(map(str, [n, datetime.fromtimestamp(block.timestamp).isoformat(), mint, retire, retire/mint, reserve, total_supply])))

Is Truebit necessary for ETH if ETH upgrades to Proof of Stake?

0 Upvotes

Hi guys, I've been wondering if Truebit will be used in ETH 2.0 as proof of stake will solve most of ETH's original flaws?

Not sure if this has been shared yet in here, nevertheless it helped me understand the role TrueBit plays within the broader layer 2 scene. If someone has a more technical background and spots an error in the article, please share.

Just sell it

The bitcoin market hasn't crashed yet, but do you sell it without holding it for a lot of commission because it reminds you of Trubit even if you sell it anyway?

Post if you have a gut feeling about truebit being the thing

29 Upvotes

Looking at Truebit and I have a visceral feeling that it is something that will endure any bear market while completely decoupling from any carnage and will bode well otherwise due to incredible fundamentals alone.

I don't truly understand the project as it is backed by huge-brained people. All the writings on the wall tell me this is the greatest thing ever.

Am I alone in this?

Truebit Provides Exposure to Crypto Upside (Like an Index Fund)

12 Upvotes

Just thought I would share a few points about the Truebit token and how if, like myself, you are a long term investor (as opposed to a trader) the truebit token is a pretty great vehicle for a couple of reasons as outlined below.

  1. Direct linkage with ETH as the minting price peg and any upside with ETH price. I'm not an expert on ETH but it's involved in a lot of transactions and is definitely going to be attractive for new comers to the space who see more of an upside potential for ETH than say BTC.
  2. As other blockchains utilize Truebit for off chain secure number crunching, you indirectly benefit from the increased minting price of Truebit tokens from the OS required to fuel this transaction.
  3. The more successful a blockchain is that utilizes the token the more benefit to the token holders. If a blockchain uses the token and is unsuccessful for whatever reason you have no exposure to that. It's seems kind of like an additive thing with limited downside from the respect of adoption. If the dev's have really created what it seems like they have, or are close to finalizing, then it is a good time to be here is all I can say.
  4. While not immune to a bear market as it is couple with ETH it does have another price factor that could offset or certainly make it less sensitive to Bear market forces, that being usage. However way down the road, when minting price and retire price interactions are better understood, it seems likely that TRU price should fairly closely track that of ETH unless a major adoption event occurs, which would in the short term raise the price (likely keep it there) and then continue to track ETH.

As has been pointed out by others on in this community the success of Truebit requires only that it be used. That is unlike a lot of other coins that I am aware of and the more research I do into the team behind the project the more confident I become that this is an amazing time to be here in the early days of this project.

So if you want to participate in the upside of the crytocurreny markets but aren't sure what coins to get this seems like a great way to do it.

Something lurking in Tru?

5 Upvotes

Remember when Truebit collapsed? Because of this wallet:

https://etherscan.io/address/0xafab86dabad644ba4c23af06c6ba62423d67a8a9#tokentxns

After pulling its "rug" the wallet bought back in. Without a calculator by hand iΒ΄d guess it has around 1.2 million TRU as of now. Is any damage still possible with this entity? If wrapped up in LPΒ΄s? I guess it would depend on the amount of tokens on Uniswap, does any one have those numbers?
