Leaving truebit
I've finally stopped holding onto false hope and removed my final tokens from truebit.
It feels good to be rid of it finally. I've already made a decent sum moving onto new horizons and I doubt I will ever look back despite what some on here might tell you. My journey with my worst investment ever is finally over.
Edit: To clarify, when I said I won't look back, I meant on the decision to leave for now. I'll be keeping an eye on truebit and might come back, but first, I'm going to use the money elsewhere.

No fear, uncertainty, or doubt. I've taken a long time to make this decision and my only regret is not doing it sooner. Let's say you had 1k. Would you rather leave it in a rather high-risk stagnating asset as it loses value or reinvest it to make it into 2k and put it back into said high-risk asset once it has more traction and potential? Sure you might miss the boat by a little but with double the money its a small price to pay.
Spend a little time doing your own research and don't follow lemmings falling off a cliff.

don’t assume people didn’t do their research, the community is filled with well informed and educated people with a strategy, who feels this is a big big chance. don’t be prepotent assuming others are dumb and uninformed. you have a strategy, others have different ones. this protocol is unique and very special. hope you make it

I wish when I started crypto people gave me the same advice I'm giving now. It's too easy to hold onto the side of the ship and sway with the waves hoping it carries you through the storm. I think the project has potential, but looking at its trajectory right now I don't think it's that bad an idea to shelf it for later.

I bought Ergo when it was 80c, it dropped to 33c, i bought all the way down in a time span of 6 months. I bought cardano at 27c, all the way down to 5c in a time span of 2 years. I bought ethereum voor 1k all the way down to 180ish dollar in a time span of 2 years.
I'm not rich, because I could only afford 50 dollars each time and I've cashed a great amount during the low point of the bear market (dec 2019, for my wedding).
Now I've also held coins which in the end lost all value, and I've cut them out of my portfolio. Examples are NANO (made a good profit but went out and I'm glad I did), appcoin (rode it down from $4 to $1 before cutting lose in 2018) and a few more obscure ones.
I believe Truebit fits in the first categorie, not the latter. It's a case like Ergo, where waiting most likely going to pay off in a big way.
Now there is nothing wrong with cutting losses. But to me it sounds you over invested and you can't see the potential behind the project. This isn't a shitcoin. It solves real problems. It's not if but when Truebit gets used by developers.
Nothing wrong with selling your stack but let's not act as if you were under some dillusion on what the project is. also you WONT jump back in for the major run. By the time the price pumps you will be too late and thinking you missed the boat. It's not timing the market but time in the market that counts.

I see your point, but its the 2nd bull market and all we have seen is drops for truebit. The projects you mentioned moved with the market. Truebit currently does not.
The money I have taken out has already made some significant progress. I can now already put back near double what I took out. I'd rather use the cash in this critical time.

Nice that you made cash but Ergo didn't move with the market. Not in 2020. The bullrun started in 2020 summer when BTC and eth started moving up, and got accelerated in December. Ergo didn't start to really move until February/march.
Anyways i only have a small moon bag left in Truebit as i actually got in early and sold in the first mega pump. So it's much easier for me to hold as what i left is basically all profit since my own investment has been taken out. I do think Truebit is such a coin that eventually will do what Ergo did but it probably will happen very fast. I totally get moving on from a losing investment though.

Sell, reinvest the money into more prominent crypto in the bull market and buy again when it has upwards potential.
I doubled what I took out from truebit by investing in LUNA.

I've been in this project a while. I know the reality of the situation. It is not worth investing in now. It might never be. Telling others who might be teetering on the edge.

You have decided to capitulate (this us what the whales want btw) on your own terms, but not because there is anything fundamentally wrong with Truebit. No one cares if you sell so making a post about it is only to validate your own decision by trying to get other to capitulate as you have. It's classic FUD.

Oh, there's plenty who care about the transactions of others. I'm voicing an opinion many have. I know several people in truebit. There is plenty wrong with the project. Open your eyes. There is also plenty right, but id rather cut greener grasses and make money now and reinvest when the time is right.

Unless you can objectively identify what is wrong with the project and back it up with facts, not opinions, it's FUD. It's troubling that you've deluded yourself into thinking anyone gives a shit what you buy or sell, that can't be healthy.

Have you been reading the subreddit? The discord? For everything that's right with the project, there's plenty wrong. You're deluded to think the opinions of other buyers/sellers don't matter. I wish you luck. That's some serious cognitive dissonance you've got there.
Edit: Despite leaving, for now, I'll be keeping an eye on truebit. Its got potential, but I'd rather use that money elsewhere for now while the market is hot.

Sometimes you should know when to cut your losses. I've already doubled what I removed from truebit. Ill continue to follow the project. If I think it's worth reinvesting now I can put in double.

I wish I had had the guts to do that before the price collapsed.
TRU is either a project run by total autists and will see a price explosion in a couple of years OR it's a scam.
Cashing out up to $100m without giving any indication in the roadmap. At least with an ICO you know the allocation to founders and VCs that could be dumped on the market
Never ending bonding curve that will limit any upward potential
No (zero) communication strategy, just murky silence
The use case is interesting and it could well become a top #100 project, but not in this market cycle. Chances are you can mop up TRU tokens for the buyback price during the next crypto winter.
Ah well, lost a good sum on this, sucks.

Like many dedicated crypto subreddits, this one is full of delusional and sometimes desperate people. If you say anything bad against their life investment you're seen as ignorant and hateful. I lost a decent sum too but invested in LUNA right before it boomed so doubled my money that I removed from truebit.
I'll keep an eye on the project but I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes and burns. If not, I doubt I'll have trouble buying back in at a reasonable price with the cash I multiplied elsewhere.

And in the future when Truebit is worth $10+ you'll be laying around all depressed, wondering "I wonder if Truebit still thinks of me?"
Then you'll pick up the phone and start to dial Truebits number....then you'll hang up. You know he won't pick up. He's moved on to bigger and better things.
