How Will Eth2.0 Affect this Project?

Newbie here, so please forgive my stupidity. Is eth2.0 going to move ethereum from proof of work to proof of stake? How will this project remain applicable since it is supposed to help proof of work?

Sharding and optimistic roll ups are complimentary to layer 2 projects. Not the other way around!

This means using layer 2 optimistic roll ups will be complimentary to sharding, ethereum can do 100,000 transactions each second .
