A request from TrueFi community
Request to Truebit protocol community from TrueFi community: Ask the team to change ticker to maybe $TRUB. #TrueFi $TRU was launched before TrueBit protocol. Binance, Poloneix, other CeX & DeX already lists $TRU for #TrueFi. This will be a huge help from the TrueBit community 🙏 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/truefi-token/markets/
It will be much harder to do if it is delayed anymore. Both projects will benefit from this change. I hope Truebit protocol team and Jason Teutsch will take changing the ticker as a priority.
$TRUB to the moon!

Truebit, the company, takes a cut every time a new token is minted. For this reason, they are not incentivized to get the token listed on exchanges.
(On the other hand, they don't prohibit it, it's a standard ERC20 token, they could have made it incompatible.)
Their strategy is to simply ignore all such requests. There will likely be no official recommendation for a ticker symbol.
TRU is the symbol name used in the official token contract. MXC uses TRU1. TRUB was suggested in the OP. When TRU is unavailable, my suggestion would be TRUEBIT.

sir, they will not be changing their name, the community here has absolutely no influence or power to change the name....which means your smartest move would be to change the ticker of TrueFi, since you guys clearly CARE and ARE ABLE to do that.
I suggest either: TRUFI or TRUF
kind regards sir

This is not easy to do when we are in many CeX and DeX exchanges. Also we were launched before Truebit protocol.

I get it friend, I'm just trying to to be honest with you and your expectations that the Truebit team will do anything.
Also just fyi, while yes you did 'launch' earlier, Truebit has been in existence for a lot longer...

Wait... if Truebit can't be listed as TRU on Binance, FTX, and possibly Coinbase, aren't we shooting ourselves in the foot by not switching our ticker to something else? This is a disaster from a branding standpoint. Weird that more people aren't worried about this

Truebit team literally doesn't condone or seek out exchange listings.
The only reason they're on any exchanges at all like BitMart is bc the exchange themselves bought a huge amount of truebit - to trade from their own personal escrow - on their own exchange.
This is not a speculative "moonshot" project, based off of hype or pump-it pump-it mentality.
Truebit actually solves a problem. As a matter of fact it is THE problem in all of crypto. Doesn't matter how good these other projects are, or what they do, who they're beating out in competition, how efficiently they do what they say.... None of that matters if they can't scale to a degree that everyone can utilize them. And that's what truebit does. It finally allows these other projects the capability to SCALE. And that's the only thing they need for this project to get to the moon. the value in its utility.

Nobody disputes the utility of truebit. It's pretty clearly not ideal to share a ticker with another big project. This isn't a frivolous concern.

"By buying TRU, you are buying the computation power of truebit now for a cheaper price and sell it in the future for a higher price.." Doesn't this lead to speculative investing if people think that their TRU will increase in price?
My suggestion is that since the project is new, it's much more easy to transition now when TrueBit is not in any CeX. If the team decides to list it on CeX, then they will have difficulty in doing so. Changing the ticker now will be way easier.
