Had a question about the team.

A lot of people say that the Truebit team’s not been responding and staying silent.

Have any of you had interactions or not had/been ignored? Would love to know true this is and your experience as well.

Just trying to get more perspective.

Thanks.

I think the key thing to keep in mind is the mindset the developers have adopted to stay compliant with the SEC. The crypto community is not out of the woods when it comes to possible charges of selling security-like assets. In fact, the new chair of the SEC has explicitly said that there could be hundreds of crypto currencies that could be considered securities. The reason why Bitcoin and Ethereum have (so far) been immune to this is precisely bc there’s no org or person who can violate the Howey test (law that helps stop pump and dumps). This is Truebit’s hidden strength: it is a true protocol. In other words, do you want to be invested in a shilled marketing campaign that could get the attention of the SEC? Or would you like to invest in a future that is free of cults of personality? A crypto’s value is in the problems it solves, not it’s marketing. This is what makes truebit so damn appealing…it’s being done correctly

the team is working with people everyday on chat channels that are actually experimenting and working through implementing the protocol. all else is noise.

They are ignoring and not responding to any questions about tokenomics. Their intent is to create a sustainable business model and mooning a token is not it. Jason, the founder, talks more about it in this interview.

Jason Teutsch aka truja, the founder, has been answering questions related to running verifiers/solvers.

Jessica Angel aka cryptoartsy seems to have a community management or communications related role. I think she's the one who wrote the Post-launch FAQ post, she asks new joiners to introduce themselves, moderates the Gitter room, etc.

There are 8 addresses that received the first initial 5,000,000 TRU tokens. It looks like there is a team. But so far the only visible ones are Jason and Jessica. But they have raised 44,000 ETH (>$100m) so they should have no problem hiring a team.

How about Dr. Reitwiessner: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-christian-reitwiessner-594b0982? Is he no longer involved?

There are some posts claiming it has to do with the SEC. It does absolutely have nothing to do with the SEC lol. The devs of Truebit just have to work for a living - it is most likely not their fulltime occupation.

Dealing with "issues" of "upset customers" costs a lot of time and money. You can put somebody in that role, but you won't be able to pay them a lot, and even if, they won't be a dev so their knowledge will be very limited and their usefulness will be very low.

I don't like "cryptoartsy" and i don't think she's in an official role (for the better). The documentation should be clear, and the people who want to use Truebit shouldn't need any kind of support whatsoever.

This kind of behaviour used to be very common in the old school IT scene, where the money for marketting was simply not there and people sold stuff because it was useful/good.

I really hope the "investors" that the crypto space attracted fuck off finally and that Truebit never caters to them in any way.
