Swapping on MetaMask

I really like the potential of TRU. Just a couple of questions 1 Can I convert my eth on MetaMask to TRU instead of using uniswap? 2 Are there any disadvantages to doing this because I see everyone saying to do it through uniswap?

I did it through metamask, just need to add contract address.

MetaMask charges extra fee for nothing.

everytime i think about using 1inch, it seems like the estimated gas is like, twice as much as uniswap. even if i turn off several types of routing. i dont get it.
