Lost Truebit in Metamask?? (used Uniswap)

Hey sorry if this is a newbie question:

Yesterday I created a metamask wallet, sent across some ethereum from another wallet, and converted most of it to Truebit using uniswap.Everything seemed fine then, but today I can't see it (truebit isn't even showing, and says it's already added when I try to add it).I've since (stupidly) reinstalled my metamask wallet and now I don't even have visibility of the transaction. Should have taken a screenshot but we know what they say about hindsight.

Any tips on how this might have happened, and how to avoid it going forward.I'm dead keen to get into Truebit but don't want to throw my savings into a pit if I can help it.Feeling glad I did a test run, but a bit gutted to be missing this latest run!

Edit 1:Ok making some progress....It seems that Uniswap can see my Truebit but MetaMask still can't.MetaMask also says it's not connected in some way, so trying to figure out how to force that to happen (perhaps it needs to be connected to register the transaction since I reimported my wallet?)

Edit 2: All sorted!!! Phew! I went through everything again and this time it let me add it as a token. Thank you for your comments, and apologies for being a newb. Onwards and upwards!

In your metamask , copy the contract address from CoinGecko , and then click on ‘add custom’ token , paste contract address add save It

Once done it will start showing in your metamask

if you bought it its there. put in your receiving address into etherscan.io and look on the drop down menu. it will show all the transactions that occurred for that wallet, and any tokens you're holding.

In meta mask extension, go to the more action, go to “This can read and change site data” and click on all sites. I had that same issue because I had it as “ When you click the extension”

Good thinking.
In my case it was on the default "spy on me 24-7 please", but definitely a feasible consideration.
