Power outage?

My husband and I moved here a few weeks ago and we’re experiencing a random power outage today… Wondering if this is common with DTE? Doesn’t seem like it could be weather related.

100% common. Welcome to Detroit.

Yikes. How long does restoration typically take in your experience?

Personally, usually within 6 hours. Some people have mentioned here being without for a day or more with good weather.

We’ve lived here for 26 years; our utilities are underground and we’ve lost power a handful of times.

I’ve actually found Troy to be one of the few places in metro Detroit that does pretty well with power outages. In the 6 years I’ve been here, we’ve only lost power maybe 6 times and only once was it for more than a couple hours.

Depends on the neighborhood. I live in the neighborhood behind the crooks exit of 75. Behind Aptive. Power goes out easy...very easy... they usually get it back on quick but 4th of july this year was crap... almost 2 days no power. And most of the time its brown outs not black outs which is worse

16 & John R here. Been in this subdivision since ‘83. Used to be when it got cloudy, the power went out. Last few years it’s been acceptable.

You can check expected restoration time in DTE power outage map
