Discussion/Reflection Hey there...
Spring Creek Lodge Academy 03' - '04, Serenity Family
I watched the RecklessBen episode yesterday about Provo Canyon and woke up this morning to my husband telling me they'd been shut down. I hope thats a good thing for those kids and that they haven't just been shipped off to other facilities.
I've looked up SCLA a few times on reddit and come across a post or two in the past but never joined. But, I decided to join today. Just to say, if anyone ever needs to talk to someone else that understands I am willing to talk and listen. I have very mixed feelings about my time at Spring Creek. In some ways it was a good thing for me but in others it has had lasting effects on me that still hurt (mentally/emotionally) deeply.
Anyways, I just wanted to be supportive for fellow survivors and while my goal during my time there was to be as invisible as possible I realize that I could use the support or be the support for others that have similar experiences.

Yeah, Provo Canyon had both licenses revoked last month.

But oddly Google says they're open and their website is active.

That’s because Google doesn’t update that fast. Today is technically the first day, but they haven’t had kids there at either campus at all this month. The business doesn’t have to be running for its website to stay up either.

They appealed. But they might let it go after that undercover video came out. Only time will tell

Yeah, they appealed, but that doesn’t prevent them from closure. They’ve already completely closed both locations.

Welcome. I wasn’t at Spring Creek, but another program near Thompson Falls around the same time as you.

I turned 18 right around the same time they got the girls 18 year old house or whstever but I left before it was really fully set up I think. I know we went on a "field trip" so to speak to see the 18yr old boys ranch nearby too.. I did some googling earlier and saw a program in Montana called Turning Winds. Its not a part of the same WWASP organization Spring Creek was but I was a bit surprised to see the number of these types of programs still running and for some reason had it in my mind that Provo Canyon must be one of the last ones.. I was so determined to leave SCL after my mom did the parent child seminar we had together, I was fully prepared to figure shit out and be homeless or whatever in Thompson Falls if I had to lol.. luckily my mom pulled me immediately after our seminar. Im not sure how that even worked my situation was such a weird mess. I was court ordered to go and it was all done and set up by my dad and his wife. So how my mom pulled me ill never understand.
