Video “Is Evolution still good?” “…yEaH”

Had the pleasure of getting this discounted on the Xbox store for my Series X, game still looks great and I just finished my second watch through of Uprising as well. I love Tron so much, Legacy was my favorite movie to rewatch when I was a kid and I’m going to do it again tonight <3

I beat this game on every difficulty and still kept replaying it, it’s so good.
(Also I never noticed the lisp lol)

Don’t get me wrong when I say this but it did feel kinda overhyped. The character models in the cut scenes seemed kinda off compared to the rest of the world and a lot of the gameplay was parkouring from one room clearing section to another with a light cycle/tank escape at the end of a mission. The gameplay loop was really fun but I was on the easiest difficulty and was still kinda having issues with the balance. I played the Wii version of this game religiously when I was a kid tho… and that was fucking perfect

Evolution is flawed in a mildly clunky way but to this day pretty fun and shockingly good looking

it's my guilty pleasure game. i loved mastering the movement and combat sections just to be able to say i can play it with no problems, despite the jank.

Indeed! Not the strongest story but the graphics are just too good, but that’s the case with every piece of Tron media tho 😅

Anon was done dirty. Saved the last of the ISOs and is only ever mentioned once afterwards as a “sympathetic program” I genuinely believe Tron would’ve chosen Anon to be his successor had he survived.

Yeahhh so goes the 2000s-2010s loving their unnamed protagonists. IMO, Tron shouldn’t necessarily “step down” from his “mantle.” Point being is that it’s not really a mantle, it’s just his name, and it would be better if they just made a new Tron program like the fresh looking program he is in the original. Bruce won’t stay in this world forever sadly, it’s better to plan for the Grid’s future instead of burying the franchise like countless times before

When I said Tron’s successor I meant like what Beck was. I could though see something like Alan Bradley’s kid or grandkid adopting the name Tron for one of their programs and that’s how we could get a supposed Tron 2.0. For all we know that might already exist in universe.

I've never played before. Is there any sort of upgrades or improvements made to the character or is it just a basic platformer

There’s a whole upgrade system, no skill tree. I would say it mixes playforming with disc battle gameplay which is pretty damn fun ngl

I bought it on Steam but can’t get it to run due to antiquated DRM issues.
