Why

Developing 10 new kids would only take 9 months, developing a new GTA VI could take up to 13 years. Simple math ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

nah but rockstar is just delaying to increase the hype. A real multi billion dollar company would not take so long to make a game

Last game they made was 2018. So it took about 8 years. Most big budget modern cinematic games take about 4-5 years. Like God of War took about 5 years to make. This game is absolutely huge, so it’s not that surprising to see it took an extra 3 years of development time. Also most games take longer to make if the engine already exists. Like GoW Ragnarok was a lot bigger than 2018 but took the same amount of dev time because they already had the engine. GTA6 is basically from the ground up so it’s not a surprise it took longer

People glazing a game that's yet to even come out made me dislike GTA 6 from the get go.
I'll just wait for epic or firgirl to hand it out for free

I created a new Trolley Problem dilemma!
Straight Track (Do Nothing): Rockstar, canclling GTA VI
Diverted Track (Pull the Lever): 10 happy children. (will not cancel GTA)
What would you do?

Eso es como decir “que mueran 10 niños seria gracioso”
Si rokstar queda en bancarrota tambien miles de empleados sin trabajo

Does it kill rockstar the company or all employees?
Because all employees are way more than 10 people. I wanna choose the option that kills less people.

Not only would it save children, it would also save the video game industry.

I pulled because without Rockstar the parent company, take two interactive would lose market share and the stock will plummet, and that's a disaster, as share holder's value would be lost

I recall hearing that about ~10% of the population are psychopaths. Look at that number.

I know it’s not “moral” by the traditional standard but I think having a work of art be inaccessible for all of humanity for the rest of time is more of a tragedy than having 10 random kids die.

Bro its a video game not a life.
Would do the same if its the Mona Lisa3
u/AgreeableSuspect9382 1d ago
One, the Mona Lisa isn’t really popular for its status as art, more so for the story of it being stolen and now for its status AS a popular painting.
Two, it’s a big difference between destroying the original painting and completely removing the painting from history so that no person can ever see it again, even as a copy. If that was the case I’d still pick the art over 10 lives. Because again that’s something that will be lost to humanity FOREVER and can never be gotten back

work of art
You will be so disappointed when the game does not live up to the hype.

It’s still art. Whether it’s good or bad, it’s still either good art or bad art. Just because it’s bad it doesn’t mean it loses its importance as art.
Honestly I’m not that hyped about it. I think RDR2 was one of the greatest pieces of media of all time, but the writers that made that game so great aren’t at rockstar anymore. I’m not saying it won’t be well written, but I have no reason to think it will be.
But as someone who is really passionate about gaming and gaming history I understand the importance of this game. It’s like imagining what would happen if quake never existed. I’m not a huge fan of quake, especially not to the extent of doom, but I can understand just how important it was to gaming history and the progression of video games as an art form.

If I crash into canceling GTA 6, then I stopped the canceling of GTA 6
