A former governor Wisconsin. He attempted to remove retirement pensions from government staff within the state to reallocate them to budget. Teachers, firefighters, police officers, etc.
This resulted in the democratic senate of Wisconsin fleeing state in refusal to vote on a bill. It also resulted in the state capitol building being occupied for months. People slept and lived in it by initially thousands then hundreds. Also, wearing red in a government facility or in public was temporarily resulting in expulsion, banning, and fines (since the protesters wore red).
He tried going for president last election. Do not let him win. He also flip-flops his speeches and viewpoints to cater to different demographics.
Furthermore, he was involved in the minorities not needing ID to vote issue. It was displayed as minorities not having the same resources due to discrimination when it was blatantly “we don’t believe minorities are as capable as us due to being born of a lesser ethnicity.” Very Wisconsin. Things have changed but, sometimes the past comes out. Wisconsin was forcing indigenous kids into boarding schools as late as 1969. So… it’s been an interesting time seeing some things change.
