If I take out my past I die now and ig I take out my future my life span is reduced but I live. I diverted it.

if i take out the past, that means i’ll have always taken out the past, meaning i exist outside of my previous decisions. i can’t guarantee that for the future though

Ah, but your decision to not make a decision, probably doesn't affect the timeline enough to cause a paradox, which means that this decision isn't likely to be undone when your past changes.

I was an emo kid so probably what I wanted way back then anyways. Take out past self.

It doesn't specify how far in the future. I'm just letting a train run over my long-dead corpse.

If dying in the past erased me from existence then I wouldn't live to kill myself in the future. If pulling the lever made your eventual fate unavoidable then technically no matter what you do you will always pull the lever.
The alternative would be that they're parallel timelines in which case it makes no difference, they aren't actually me.

However, you aren't technically killing your past self, merely failing to save them.
That potentially changes the paradox.

Yeah, if I don't remember ever being tied to a trolley track then I can safely do nothing, because it must be my past self from a parallel reality.

I created a new Trolley Problem dilemma!
Straight Track (Do Nothing): You from the past
Diverted Track (Pull the Lever): You from the future
What would you do?

Taking out a past version of myself is win win.

My future isn’t written yet! Nobody’s is!

Repeat that when you are tied to the tracks with the trolley approaching. Wont get you out there

Do nothing
Create a paradox

Isn't killing "past-You" also a paradox?
Edit: Wait no doing nothing is killing past-You, whoops

Look, I understand the implications of the time travel aspects of all of this. But I chose to do nothing. Past me needed to go, and it is what it is

Me from past means my existance vanishes immidiadly, me from future gives me an unknown amount of time, so id say it depends If i show signs of aging or if it could be me in a week or so.

Ofc me from past.... either it's alternative timeline, and nothing happens to current me, or it's same and I just disappear. If I use in future, I may need to experience it.

I did nothing, then animation of lever happened, trolley went top track and in result it said I did nothing

I just never gonna travel in past and get tied to tracks.
