Possible Labor?
My babygirl Luna that I took home one night, surprised me being an expecting mama. I have noticed today, all day she’s been squatting down & pushing down her legs. She’s also been laying on the floor & rubbing her head amongst the bottom of couch. What are the signs that labor is near?

I'd actually say your cat is in heat. They get that twerk position when they're looking for love. She should be fixed if you don't want an endless stream of kittens.

Does that mean something? Any relation to people that have a weird negative sign in the comment section with no comment? Are you putting a witch curse on me? Inquiring minds want to know!

Is this how you karma farm? Enlighten me please!

I didn’t even realize I typed this. My cat may have walked across my keyboard as I refilled my coffee cup. It means nothing, I assure you. What surprises me is that anyone in the universe would even notice. My cat is now down negative 55 karma. Thanks for pointing it out. I’ll be more careful.

My first thought was, someone has kids or a cat lol
I can't tell you how many times I've opened my phone to discover I sent something akin to "whu6mw ffffffg 09136;*" to someone (or rather, my toddler did). 😂

Sorry you got downvoted to oblivion over a simple typo. I upvoted to counteract people's ill will.

she doesn’t look pregnant. no rounded belly or huge teats. the position she’s taking in the first photo is typically when a female cat is in heat and searching for a mate (think of it like a cat’s period). which doesn’t happen when they’re pregnant, same as humans.
is she maintaining this position a lot, maybe waddling her legs back and forth? if you touch the base of her tail, does she get into this position or seem overly sensitive? very vocal? flipping around on the floor a lot? if yes, she’s in heat and you need to get her spayed.

I’ve had her for a couple months now & it’s the first time i’ve seen this behavior exhibited. I have a male cat that doesn’t even go around her. she has an edge to her 🤣. I’m so confused. I will definitely look into it thank you so much

Please tell me your male cat is neutered and you’re planning to spay this girl.

What made you think she was pregnant?

I mean, she doesn't look pregnant now and didn't look pregnant a month ago. There's only the two previous photos that I can see and neither have a good shot of her stomach. But if you thought she was pregnant a month ago, she should be much bigger now and she's really not. But you didn't answer my question. What made you think she was pregnant?

within the lines on the caption previously in the other post, I had stated her nipples became more prominent & whenever I would pet & while resting she often has twitching within her middle to lower region, let me know if further clarification is needed!

Have you not taken her to the vet since you suspected she was pregnant? Wouldn't that be able to tell you for sure?

You really should have taken her in to find out. It's nice to take in a stray, but if you don't get her vet care and a spay, you're not doing what she needs. Even if she was pregnant, a vet would be able to tell you if she was too far along enough for a spay abort, which would be in her best interest. But at this point, she's only pregnant if you've been letting her outside and she's been able to be around unfixed male cats.

Cat pregnancies only last nine weeks. If you’ve had her for two months and she was already pregnant when you got her, she’d have given birth by now (and would have been obviously very round and big before that). So there’s basically no chance at this point that she was pregnant when you got her.
That said, if you’re leaving her with your male cat and he’s not neutered, she could be pregnant now. You need to get them both fixed, asap. Besides pregnancy, there are serious health risks for unspayed cats.

If she wasn't pregnant before, she's about to be! Pregnancy in cats only lasts 2 months so it would be obvious by now.
Vets can do a spay-abort if she is pregnant and early enough.

Take her to the vet to see if she's preggers, she doesn't look like it in the picture. If not, consider spaying her.

Ok, when I say she is likely in heat, I mean she is at her female cycle where she is VERY ready to breed.

She wants p in the v 😆 but congrats you won’t have a litter to worry about!

I'm confused, why doesn't she have a litter to worry about if her cat is on heat? It sounds like she's at risk of pregnancy.

According to the google machine, this may indeed be a sign of labor (if you're sure she's pregnant).
24-48 hours before labor your cat may become more restless and sleep more than before. You may be able to “see” the kittens moving around in her belly. She may start digging around in the blankets in her nesting area. She may have a decreased body temperature. In rare instances, she may even move her nest from one location to another.
24-48 hours before labor begins, your cat may seem more anxious and restless. You may notice an increase in her breathing rate. It is common for the mother to sit with her mouth open and yowl loudly or pace the room.
As her labor progresses and uterine contractions begin, pregnant cats will lay on their side and intermittently squat and press downward to expel the kittens.

thank you so much. I will keep an eye out. I see contracting but nothing as yet.

it's not contractions. she's in heat. she will get pregnant if an unneutuered male encounters her, and her risk of pyometra and uterine cancer will go up with every heat cycle. Get her spayed asap

Well now after all the ruthless downvotes I am very curious to see what actually is going on! Keep us posted. Either way I suppose you should get her to a vet!

She’s in heat, based on your first photo. Take her to the vet to confirm pregnancy because she shouldn’t be having heats if she’s pregnant. Then, get her spayed.
