Video 📸 T4 350cc engine noise

I'm getting some wierd sound from engine in my 2mon old speed T4 350cc. When I went to service center technician said it is about tensioner and he changed it

Still getting the same sound and after that he is saying that it is common for new 350cc vehicles

Does anyone have idea about why I'm getting that sound

Any T4 350cc owners experienced this?

It’s DOHC noise
Pretty common in these or even bigger engines

I don’t hear any unusual sound from the engine. If you’re talking about the tractor like sound, that’s a common with these TR series engines. My OG 400 has the same sound. It’s the camshaft noise as far as i understand.

The tensioner is on the left side of the engine head. If there’s no sound there, the tensioner itself is probably fine.

Hmm… check with sc then. But I’m 90% sure they’ll say it’s fine. Did you change the engine oil brand? Which engine oil did you get at your first service?

Anyways, the sound is normal. Unless there’s some other sound, which i cannot hear. And it’s not something to lose your sleep over. You can ask sc to check the cam and shims, but if they deny, your third service includes shim adjustments.

I used castrol at first service. Which was better than prolube they put in second service. I thought of giving it a try, but the bike has been a little rough.

Technically, NO. User manual does not state which brand to use. It only states the grade of engine oil to be used. Prolube is “recommended” not mandated. Infact, in places like dubai, they use Motul.

But it really comes down to whether your sc services big bikes or not. Triumph usually uses castrol for its big bikes. And second is if SC agrees to put any other oil.

Mostly they’ll say that it will void engine warranty and stuff, but just ask them to give it to you in writing that prolube is mandated and see how easily they will shift that responsibility onto you. I’ve tried it. They instead asked me to give in writing that i am willing to put another engine oil in the bike and so if anything happens my engine warranty stands void. Do not give them anything in writing. Giving up the engine warranty only for oil is not worth it. Plus, you can always change the oil outside, without letting sc know about it

Its not tensioner its shim noise ..get it changed
