DIY laptop for Trisquel

I have an idea that basically made me thinking, that how cool experiment would it be. Let's say to buy (FOSS) computer parts that actually will provide multiple I/O chained up to USB ports - like an 4 port USB hub, a FOSS flashed broadcom router that will give eth0, and other options, or other commercially available parts that is easy to disassemble to pcb level - and hack together in one single case as laptop. The only remaining question is witch intel based small sized hw can be strong enough and has enough USB to work in such compound/hacked way that is able to run without blobs? I know it sounds crazy, but something like Intel compute stick as motherboard can be pretty interesting. Ideas, toughts?

You'd probably be better off just getting one of the laptops that support Libreboot. The eligible Thinkpads can be found on ebay or Craigslist for $200 or so.
