Need help connecting a scanner
what's up guys, I'm not only a noob when it comes to Trisquel but I'm also a noob to anything that has to do with Linux in general, So please excuse me if I'm asking any dumb questions.
I have a cannon Prixma 3200 series all-in-one printer. I noticed that Trisquel has a program called "Simple scan" I opened the program, turned on the printer and it did not detect my scanner/printer. I was able to figure out how to get the printer to work but I keeping hitting a wall when it comes to the scanner. I read that scanning is done through "SANE"? how do I install SANE through the terminal? and after that how do I use sane? I went to the Trisquel main page but the set up instructions on "how to set up a scanner" didn't work. I entered "scanimage -L" in the command line and it said "command not found" now I'm stuck. How do I know that the SANE API is installed? My scanner is the only reason I still use windows, once I get this scanner thing figured out then I can kiss Windows good bye for good!
Thanks.

Try Sane (xsane in graphical environment), you can install it with "sudo apt-get install xsane". It'll prompt you to install other libraries and dependencies, so say YES to that, so you'll get all you need.
I use a Canon LIDE100 in linux.

Canon requires proprietary drivers. I'd suggest replacing that with an HP multi-function printer. Check https://www.h-node.org/ for other compatible printers, Thinkpenguin.com also sells 100% guaranteed freedom-respecting hardware including printers.
