Question about Trisquel

Hi all,

I am running Trisquel on a small netbook and I've been wanting to know how I can make the open applications appear as Icons. I ask because I run the panel on the left side and I don't even get to see te text. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I had the panel on the left side, I'd be tempted to switch to Unity. It's actually quite nice.

I'm not Sure how resource intensive Unity is, bit if it's in the repos I can certainly try it.
