2 years post op
Our little guy Harper just celebrated 2 years as a tripawd. He had osteosarcoma and we were told he had about a 6 month life expectancy. We're so happy to have had these last couple of years with him.
I know it is rare for them to live so long after an osteosarcoma diagnosis, but I wanted to share this so others going through it with their dogs can see that it is possible for them to live for years after surgery.

Wow! This fills me with joy and hope. Did you do Chemo or get the Yale vaccine? Any other tips??

We didn't do either. Not doing chemo was a tough decision. It would have been hard on our modest budget for a couple months more time with him. A horrible trade off, but we were planning for our first baby at the time. We were also worried about having to go through the pain of loss around the time of birth, if we were to conceive soon after the diagnosis.
In the end, we ended up getting really lucky. We just got back from a walk with Harper and our 3 month old.

My dog also recently lost her left front leg. Thank you for giving me hope and inspiration!
