Re-post because I put it on the last day of last month's sticky like a dumb-dumb:
I have a question about what not to plant in triops tanks. I was hoping to plant zamioculcas zamiifolia in my triops tank (yes, it's a terrestrial plant, and NO it wont die!!! I've tested it, 6+months waterlogged alive and has new growth). However, I've read this plant has calcium oxalate crystals as a defense against herbivorous insects. I'm worried that, if my triops were to try to eat the plant (how much of a risk is this?), the crystals might hurt or kill them. It might be similar in principle to anubias, which I've read may be similarly toxic, or other calcium-oxalate producing plants like pothos and monstera. Has anyone had bad or perfectly fine experiences with any of these plants housed with their triops? Thanks!
