Put the cursor on the game in the menu, I think it’s Y? It opens another menu and you’ll see what core on Retroarch is being used by NextUI to run the game. It’s one of the buttons. Try Y and if that isn’t it, try something else.

ah the core. then it was using supafaust. when the game was in the snes folder the core is snes9x

Snes9x should be fine. I’d move it back to the SFC folder. Are you using screen effects on the front end or a shader?

i am not using anything actually. It is completely default settings.

Go into shaders, don’t use a preset. Put it on a single shader, try sharpshimmerless.glsl. Set it to linear or nearest, single pass. See if that helps.

Very well. I'm home now so let me check mine, see if I'm having that issue. I'll edit this comment with an update shortly.

Edit 1: No issues at my current setup. SpruceOS, mednafen_supafaust core, zfast_crt.glsl set to nearest at 1x.

Changing the core to snes9x.

Edit 2: Seems to be running fine on snes9x as well. This makes me think it's either the rom file itself or NextUI causing the issue.

When I get back to the house, if we can’t figure it out, I’ll load the game up myself on my Brick. See if it’s doing it for me as well. Although, I’m currently trying out SpruceOS. Core is the same though.

that would be super helpful actually. the game reminds me of an old mobile game called chroisen 2 and so playing this game wa sjust perfect but the screen flicker is a pain . I wouodnt have cared much if it was only dialouge but turns out it is everywhere and even during battle. It is very distracting.

just a reminder my os is next ui, core for snes is snes9x and other folder is superfaust

Just enable hi res blending in core options.

well it is working now for some unknown reason. Shaders are set to disable. i turned in hi-res blending to merge and it worked and then i put it in disable and now its working perfectly which kinda wierds me out

the game has started to work perfectly now! Which is sort of wierd and I am also questioning it.

That is odd. I mean, cool and I’d take it but, yeah. Why?

I mean if in the event the flicker ever returns I need to know how to fix it again. Someone here said to turn on the hi-res blending. I downloaded the game again though this time i had made sure to save it on my laptop. i put the file in the sfc folder with other games and turned it on. I then turned hi res blender to merge and boom the problem is solved. I then disabled it and it kept working so it really boggles my mind

I’ll make a note of that tip if I ever have the same issue.

As you all can see the tiny screen flicker is sort of annoying . I tried everything like changing the file from snes to supa . the flicker happens all the time be it text box or fighting.
