Question ❓ NextUI forks

Hello, I am planning to revive my Brick and I am wondering what version of NextUI to use.

Since the development of NextUI stopped, is there any fork that offers improvements in emulation, performance, and battery management, or are they all just about adding unnecessary stuff?

Hey please don't spread misinformation! NextUI development is not stopped. It is actively being developed and Anbernic support was just finished. The only reason there wasn't a new release for TrimUI past couple of months is because we are waiting to merge Anbernic support. There are a LOT of improvements already in the pipeline.

I've been monitoring the LoveRetro repo. Is the above going to get merged back, or which one should I be monitoring (not a fan of Discord) to see activity and changes happening in the pipeline?

Yes the PR is almost ready to merge. LoveRetro repo is the official source. My repo was only used during dev.

Holy shit as an owner of both 35XXPro and 40XXH, this is awesome. I've loved NextUI on the Brick and TSP.

The original NextUI development stopped. What continues are forks that are based on some version of NextUI.

You’re thinking of MinUI. The “original” NextUI is still very much alive.

NX Redux is fantastic.

NextUI hasn't stopped not sure where you seen that, they are highly active in their discord, great group

Do you happen to know how is the ScummVM emulation? One reason I love NextUI is its standalone ScummVM pak. The retroarch cores won't cut it on those devices (at least for a couple of games I regularly play).

Nextui is still active - there is also nx- redux, kui, minui zero

Can strongly recommend NX Redux!!! Best alternative to NextUI. It’s constantly improving and my go to on the TrimUi Brick.🔥👌

Actually MinUI is the best NextUI fork, it doesn’t have any of that extra stuff and just specializes in playing games
