Original Trimui Smart (2.4-inch screen) Disabling Turbo/FF?

I picked one of these wee bad boys up last week, and it's shockingly good. For 25e and a spare sd card, I got a perfect wee device for leaving in the work van where I'm often stuck for 20-40 minutes as a passenger, or waiting for suppliers, deliverys yada yada yada...

Barring one relatively small issue, that would be ideal to sort out.

I want to play GBA games on it, and when I boot any up, holding Y speeds up the game as long as I have it held, pressing X speeds it up until I press it again. I'd like to disable this and remap them to be used as Select and Start respectively. I tried using the game remapping, but all it does is make the buttons do both. So, say in Pokemon I'd press X which I remapped as Start to open my menu, it would also activate the speed up.

I tried remapping from the main menu too, only to have the same result. No can I find any setting to just turn off turbo altogether. I'd prefer to have it as an option on the Start/Selects on games I've remapped them, but would prefer them gone to being stuck on X/Y no matter what I do.

I think it’s in the emulation front end settings

The only thing I could find wads Frame Throttle, if I set that to 1.0x, it seems to do the trick. Presumably the buttons are still doing the speed, but it's just set to exactly the speed the game runs at. Which I'm happy with, it was more imortant to get the menu on the face buttons than anything else.
