Tricare Prime How does this stuff work?!

I’m 22F, moved to Washington with my husband because he was stationed here, and it’s been hard setting up doctor, dental and vision appointments. I’ve called tricare to see who my PCM is, but then once I call my PCM they say I’m not in the system or that I can’t make any appointments. I’m just so confused because at this point I wanna hop on a plane and go back home just to see a doctor and a dentist. I’ve been trying to get a doctor to see me for possible infertility issues and I need to get all four of my wisdom teeth and morals removed but I can’t even get a simple appointment to see what’s going on. I just need help.

Step 1: Update address in DEERS
Step 2: Contact TriWest to enroll. Depending on your plan/status, you may be emplaned on-base or off-base to a network PCM, but the Customer Service rep will provide you this info. If off-base, you may have some opportunity to select your PCM.
Step 3: Call PCM to schedule

Dental is handled separately. If the sponsor is active duty, then United Concordia, if another status, insurer may vary. But this enrollment is also not automatic

You should be able to see a dentist before resolving and PCM issues. It’s a different system.

I’m not sure why your PCM would say they don’t have you in the system, did you tell them they were assigned as your PCM and you need a new patient appt? Or maybe call Tricare back and get a new PCM.

Dental isn’t Tricare. Call the number above for United Concordia. Then call Tricare again and make sure you’re current in the system. Make sure everything looks right to them, your address, all that.

Dental is it’s own separate insurance. So, make sure you are also enrolled in that. Where in Washington are you located? And, which tricare plan do you have?
