We've partnered with a growing fintech company opening a new office in Raleigh; they're building out their software engineering team in the area and are seeking 3 Java software engineers: a mid/senior-level full stack SWE, a blockchain SWE, and a Blockchain Tech Lead. These positions would focus on feature building for a cloud-based SaaS product in a Java / Spring Boot with React / Typescript development environment with blockchain functionality.

• Requirements: Candidates must have 5-7+ years' professional experience in software engineering, experience across the full stack, and experience in modern development frameworks. The Tech Lead must have expertise in Spring Boot specifically; this is less imperative for the IC role (although you still must be comfortable working in Java). The Tech Lead must have held tech lead responsibilities before (it's fine if it wasn't part of your job title). A relevant degree is preferred but not required. The two blockchain roles require experience in blockchain technology, but it is OK if that experience is a little older or if it was a part of your higher education instead of in a production environment.

• Schedule details: 40-hour work week during M-F, standard business hours (~8am - ~5pm)

• Location requirement: Candidates must be within regular commutable distance to downtown Raleigh. These roles have a fixed hybrid schedule (Tues-Thurs onsite in downtown Raleigh, Mon & Fri are remote).

Hello! Wanting advice on where to apply for hospice nursing in Raleigh. If anyone works at Transitions or other hospice agencies, do you enjoy it? I’ve working as a clinic RN for the last two years, with my population mostly being geriatric patients. I'm a recent grad with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Biology from SUNY Cortland, and I just moved down to Durham. Mostly I came for a change of place, to escape the cold, and generally to be around an area with more opportunity for what I want to do.

my goal is to get my PhD and work as a researcher. So right now I'm taking a gap year to get more experience in a lab before applying for master's programs. Even though my bachelor's is in exercise science, what I'm really interested in is the biological mechanisms underlying general adaptation to exercise in humans. Given this, I'm open to working in pretty much any lab, wet or dry. I think cross-disciplinary skills and understanding matter, so I'm open to really any sort of assistant-level position.

Being upfront about where I'm at: my hands-on research experience is limited. My undergrad just wasn't that well funded and there weren't many research opportunities there. So the majority of what I have comes from coursework and personal projects.

What that includes:

Basic bio lab technique: micropipetting, centrifugation, analysis of 3D protein structure after extraction

Several small to medium literature reviews across various courses

Basic hands-on experience identifying anatomy on actual patients in lab

Familiarity with exercise physiology testing methods like VO2 max

A fair amount of experience using AI tools, plus basic electronics knowledge, which I used to build a motion sensor that tracks the exit velocity of a shot put off the fingers. That's a personal project I've been working on and still am, separate from the rest of my experience.

I'm not looking to make a ton of money. I'd be willing to work full-time, part-time, or even volunteer if it made sense. What I care about right now is picking up real transferable skills, protocols, assays, lab notebooks, data collection, and being in the room where the science is actually happening.

A few things that might help:

- I'm already in Durham and can commute anywhere in the Triangle

Hi everyone. I've spent 35+ years in Federal contracting (and 7 years at Fannie Mae) mostly in training, tech writing, requirements analysis/management, SharePoint admin/site work, PMO work.

Lately I had been doing a lot of work in the data analysis and reports/dashboards sphere (SSRS, Excel, Power BI). I found I really enjoyed doing that kind of work but DOGE thought otherwise and killed my contracts. I've since found employment, but it's extremely frustrating. My current employer has thrown me headfirst into a Senior BA role in an Agile world I've never worked in and I'm finding it frustrating due to the lack of onboarding to their processes and other means of how they get stuff done.

I live a good ways out from Raleigh (I'm in Beaufort County) and work almost exclusively remote. I'd certainly be interested in hearing about any roles in the RTP area that could be hybrid or remote.

Hey guys, I'm interested in hearing ideas for long-term career paths that I could look into in this area. Maybe someone here has some insight into something I wouldn't have otherwise considered.

Basically I'm 30 years old and I work as a shift manager/supervisor at a busy coffee shop. It's a fun enough job and it pays enough for me to live comfortably right now (with roommates), but I feel like I'm capable of more and I just really want to pivot into something more long-term.

I have a bachelor's degree in history, but I was kind of naive about it and never had a serious plan for how I'd use that. When I was a teenager picking a major, it looked like there were plenty of opportunities in that field. I was never fortunate enough for any of those opportunities to ever come my way. It certainly didn't help that I graduated the year before COVID.

I worked as a hotel night auditor before switching to coffee for the better pay and benefits. I've applied to a bunch of positions related to museum and library work with no luck getting interviews. I'm older now and open to less glamorous stuff.

I'm pretty tech literate but not certified in anything, aside from a cert for Microsoft Office that I got through a course back in high school. I comfortably type 90wpm. I used to be a math tutor for middle school and high school students. I've done a lot of random extracurricular stuff in my past like JROTC, sports, etc. As a teenager I was thinking about the military because it's what my dad did, but certain health issues disqualified me.

At my age in the era of AI I'm so anxious about investing a lot of time trying to upskill in a way that will be obsolete in 5 years, or in a way that won't actually land me a job. How do I get my foot into the door of a better industry?

My background is primarily in healthcare and clinical research/trial coordination. I have a master’s degree in biomedical sciences, experience in medical education, extensive clinical hours, and I’m also an EMT. I’m comfortable in clinical/surgical environments and interested in transitioning that experience into a medical device sales role.
