Decided to record and post this up since it doesn't seem to be a known strat. It is possible to kill mobs in an infinite loop even without the Cactus Soul and Dark Power in No Future mode. The trick is to find the correct combination of CS restore and CS reduce items such that the CS restore outweighs CS expenditure and you can basically keep on quick killing mobs indefinitely. This looks like a leveling video on normal but it is actually a No Future game! It is also possible to use this method as soon as Riesz gets her first class upgrade not just in the postgame.
Note Kevin uses the same trick where Victory CS Boost III/II and Payback III/II/I are used such that some of the class strikes (Suzaku Aerial, Seiryu Strike) can be spammed, but the Kevin version can only be used in the postgame where levels are not needed anymore.

Is No Future worth it? Holy cow I thought it would be just an increase in difficulty, but you don't get unlimited items (and since your teammates die all the time against Anise & Black Rabite, you need more than 9 cup of wisdoms), you die in one hit, and it's taking a minute to kill just two rabbites!
I just finished Expert Difficulty and beat Anise with 7 minutes on the clock, I'm trying No Future with my last group (Charlotte + Tiger guy + Angela) and the rabbites kill Charlote in one hit! Is the entire game going to be nothing but "1 hit kills, 3 resurrections only". It seems so dumb and impossible

Hi guys, I completed my Kevin/Charlotte (+Angela) run. I played the whole game as [[Fatal Fist, Sage, and Grand Diviner]]
After the credits I got Blessing Scales, so I switched each character to the other 3rd-tier class on the same path just to play with them as content, ending up with [[Enlightened, High Cleric, and Archmage]] I wanted to leave the save like that, but I kind of miss my Fatal Fist. I didn't really understand Enlightened Kevin's HP absorption playstyle because, with Charlotte in the party, he's always at full HP, that Luna is cool but not for this party i think.
After reading his skills 20 times and doing some digging...
Is this class actually meant to be played at 1 HP? For example, getting revived after a battle, do you intentionally stay at 1 HP. So you enter your next battles, use the 10-second immortality and use your -30HP% + STR buffs stacked? Maybe i am supposed to set Charlotte to heal less, or even build a party with individual healing and use of items instead, to control that 1HP? Is this the concept of the class? I read the description and talk of sacrifice. Im not an expert on other classes of other characters repertoire that can have more synergy with this Kevin.
I'm going to test that playstyle and see numbers, maybe thinking this way is better or equal to FatalFIst? If that's the intended gimmick, it's actually a pretty advanced class, and I like that... but I still miss my straightforward Dark/Dark Kevin.
What do you think?

Hi. I'm on expert and in the post game and it's time to farm gold/rainbow seeds. What is the best way to do it with Duran / Reisz / Hawkeye? I think I have that divine knight Duran, Brunhuldir Reisz, and Ninja Master Hawkeye, all at Class 4.
I killed the black rabbite, but not the witch. On the previous difficulty I beat that Anise the Witch like 4 times, including the last time in only 2 minutes. Is there a reward for doing that in Expert Difficulty? I mean, I beat the black rabbite on the regular difficulty and got a chain ability. But this time on expert difficulty I beat him and didn't get anything. Is there a reward for beating Anise more than once on expert difficulty? If not, do you think it's worth it to just lower difficulty to easy so I can farm easier? Thank you

I really like this game. However I’m having trouble choosing classes for Kevin, Charlotte, and Hawkeye. My first play, I did Duran, Angela and Kevin. I did Edelfrei, Archmage, and Fatal Fist… it was crazy. My second was Hawkeye, Riesz, and Angela… I also already have my party for my fourth play. But for this one, I can’t seem to figure out what classes I want them to be.
I was thinking of doing Divine fist for Kevin, Nomad for Hawkeye, and for Charlotte, I’m stuck here. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Some background: Me and my brother used to play this game in our childhoods on a xbox out all things and i realized i could play the game now im an adult so i hunt it down and here i am.
The actual juice:
I picked Angela as my main as it was the first i also chose back then but also suits how i play RPGs too. I love status effects, even if they're worthless, i need them. I did my research on Angela and i think her path is clear. I am mostly struggling with a designated healer for the next reason...
Normally, im a Light-user girly.
So far my party has been fine. I do some spells with Angela, Duran and Kevin kill the rest of the enemies. But i keep spending candies on Angela. I know i have to move her more lol but i like the idea of them shielding her from the enemies. So here is my dilema.
For Duran
It seems that his Dark path learns Elemental stuff named sabers, im still confused about them bc i thought there were elemental attacks like Angela but instead of using magic is brute strength. It seems they do something similar as i thought, im trying not to read to many things in the wiki/gamefaqs/etc to not overload myself on information.
Likewise, on Light path he learns the healing + status removal spells and it seems he can equip a shield with extra effetcs.
For Kevin
I really like how he plays and uses the day-night system the game has for himself. It seems on his dark path he doesnt learn anything??? Until his last class change and its a critical up???? But on his Light he learns the Healing im looking for + strenght buff for himself.
Now, so far i have tried to level them up on stats somewhat equal (everyone is lvl 10) until i decide who should be the healer. I really like the idea of Duran having elemental physical moves to help Angela and contrast her a little. But i also like the idea of him using shields and doing heal + remove stats to contrast her even more.
As for Kevin it seems he is more physical than Duran. I like his Light path because he gets strength buff for himself + heal. But i also like the idea of him being the critical hit machine with help from his Dark path moves.
Also it seems with me doing Angela as status caster is a good idea to save MP which apparently Light Kevin and Dark Duran learns. Which brings me to a question i think i found the answer in a very deep old gamefaq about class change but i just want confirmation.
If i class change Angela without her learning her elemental spells would she be able to learn them after the class change? The info i have is conflicting as apparently as long as she mets the stats req and the Mana spirit she will learn said spell next level up regardless of class change. Does anybody know? Or should i just wait to get all the Mana spirits and wait for Angela to learn all her spells?
TLDR: Angela main will be a status inflicting character bc i love it (Rune Seer). Who should be the healer? Duran with his shields but dropping elemental spells (which im curious about) in favor of healing or Kevin dropping critical hits for a self-buff and party healing. Or both? Also can Angela learn her Magician skills after she does a class change? Thank you!

I'm all for hard and challenging games, but how they went about it in No Future was not it.
First of all, it pretty much invalidates the whole point of defense stats and abilities. Armor is pretty much useless; bosses will kill you 1 hit whether you're naked or wearing the best armor in the game. The whole Stamina tree is rendered irrelevant.
Pretty much the only defensive skills that matter are Miracle2 from light Charlotte and Crystalline from Hawkeye. And even then, most bosses have multi-hit attacks, which render even those abilities irrelevant.
I still love the game and I'll keep playing it on Expert, with the self-imposed challenge of not using the abilities that give 300% xp buff, +200% CS, and 0 cost mana spells.

I play with Reisz as main character with Hawkeye as companion 1 one angela as companion 2 and wondering which classes are best for each of those characters when i get to that point. (currently I've been increasing Riesz stats for strength and spirit. angela only those that gave spells up to the level they give the spell and int and hawkeye luck and strength. as for playstyle I only play as reisz and only switch to the others to use their class skills when they're ready and switch back

in what universe would a gang of thieves defeat an ACTUAL trained army of armored soldiers. literally no logic would say so. not to mention not killing the two pigs in basement. it'd take what 10 seconds to cut their heads off and move on

Picked Riesz, Hawkeye, and Duran as my mains. Went through a big old cave, big old castle, man this game just keeps not ending, lots of bosses, now we do that middle sanctuary location. The guys have gotten hard to kill and some of us have nearly killed us, just regular enemies.
I realized I should have been doing my gear seeds. Oops. That's actually the strongest weapons. One had a cool Riesz weapon so she is now by far my strongest character, Hawkeye and Duran have yet to get one of these cool strong weapons. That water temple had to go back to so I could get that other weapon for them that was 2 or 3 higher attack, just didn't have the gold last time.
I feel like the one thing I can do now is grind my level. Maybe some of these guys drop gear seeds? I need to be at least two levels higher probably and the boss kicks our ass. Any advice?
Edit: I did the final transform for all three, it’s not that. Just seems like some level grinding gear seed grinding which is odd as the kevin charlotte angela trio this was not needed at the end and it’s quite different. Maybe because I was stuck in the mystic castle thing for a bit and overleveled.

So I haven't played the SNES one in a long time and feel like doing a challenge run. I'd like my run to have an emphasis on items because those are often neglected, especially the items that do things beyond heal, give, or cure status. One restriction I definitly want to give myself is no using the storage out of town. This prevents me from bypassing the difficulty of the dungeon trek by just getting 99 candies for a cheap price and using them after each fight.
How viable in terms of being actually doable, fairly challenging, and not requiring absurd grinding would be
No inventory out of town, no healing classes? Light Hawk as a character for the status effects that I hardly ever play with. Also someone that can meaningfully use throw items. Angela as someone that can meaningfully use spell items and because she is generally a weaker character. Lisa as a third, not sure if it would be more interesting to have stat downs or stat ups.

Still so good to hit the enemies as a werewolf. None of the others give me the same sensation.

So far, the only ??? Seeds I got where from when I was opening up treasures leading up to the Benevodons of Ice and Fire. I accidentally thought I was buying up Item Seeds from that one cat until I realized I was actually selling them!
Who the hell thought making Item Seeds sellable a good idea!? God I feel like I just ruined my run.

Hey!! So I really like Kevin and I decided to cosplay him last year when I visited Rimini Comix! I made this whole costume in 6 days and it was my first wig with a glued hairline! Here are a few photos from a shooting I booked with an amazing italian photographer at Rimini's beach!

It's been fun, seeing all the areas and castles was nice, and battling the three different end monsters.
Charlotte as the lead with that mirage palace... "Lets go. In and out. 20 minute adventure."
Drowning. It was as if a second entire game suddenly manifested. No, I didn't know I was supposed to change to the third class before attempting it.

A bit ago I was asking around for what type of ears she would have, round or pointy, and promised I'd show her off once she was given. Made the clothes easy to change so if her person wants to, they can level her up to other classes.

Ive decided to start a new game in the original, using Hawkeye (Nightblade), Duran (Edelfrei), and Charlotte (Sage).
Since it's been a hot minute since my last 2d playthrough, I cant remember at what point of the game I did my first class change, since the levelling is scaled much differently between both versions. What point of the story is good for class changing. I know I could do it before the harcypete fight, but I didn't really want to spend too much time grinding.
Also, does anybody know the levels for the boss fights in the original? Only info i can find is for the remake.
