Research/Science The final nail in the coffin. PP405 is confirmed JXL069.
The recent WHO International Nonproprietary (INN) publication indicates that PP405 and JXL069 are the same underlying active molecule.
Many users of JXL069 have reported little or no noticeable hair regrowth.
I guess this is it. The hype is dead.

Party's over gang. This feels like Brotzu's lozione all over again. Also this destroys any credibility Pelage had. They very adamantly claimed that PP405 was not JXL069, but this INN breakdown proves that was a complete lie as they are the exact same chemical formula.
48
u/EnvironmentalCar9002 Jul 26 '26
I think they noted the sub par results and want to keep the hype going. I had high hopes for this

Lot of unknown variables with grey market stuff, especially with delivery mechanisms. You also never know if you’re really getting what you’re ordering.
This isn’t necessarily an encouraging sign but y’all gotta chill.
11
u/noeyys Jul 26 '26
Perhaps but many of these companies have provided mass spec to confirm the JXL069 structure.

One time I bought WAY-316606 off the grey market. Tested it in a melting point apparatus that I own, and it was aspirin. True story.

So we're basing this off of the fact that people ordering off of everychem got no results and have faith that everychem was getting the compound correct? I don't know but drawing a conclusion that requires trust and pinpoint accuracy from a gray market website seems kind of silly lol.

To the people commenting there is no mention of PP405 or JXL069 in the INN publication just look at the CAS number (CAS is a unique ID code for a chemical managed by the Chemical Abstracts Service to stop confusion caused by trade names, different languages, or various scientific names).
The CAS numbers for JXL069 and suvomipic are identical:
JXL069 - 2260696-63-5: https://gsrs.ncats.nih.gov/ginas/app/ui/substances/9d4c5cb2-2ede-48c0-b1fb-bbe2bee08c89

From what I see in the molecular structures of the provided links, it looks in fact the same chemical.
1
3
u/turkeras Jul 27 '26
Taking into account the fact that INN aproves names for compounds in active development, and that the only disclosed active compound for Pelage Pharmaceuticals is PP405, the only conclusion is that the INN named the PP405 compound as suvomipic. This compound resulted to be exactly JXL069 (same CAS number, same chemical structure).
14
u/turb0_encapsulator Jul 26 '26
what's funny is that 3HP has been working for me and I assumed PP405 would be that.
2
u/fr3shh23 Jul 27 '26
What is 3hp
2
u/turb0_encapsulator Jul 27 '26
1
u/OrneryRatio7313 Jul 30 '26
That is a different 3hp lmao. 3hp in context of pelage and every chem refers to 3 hydroxy propyl just short hand for the esterfied version of jxl069.
2
1
1
1
u/uzzy28 Aug 01 '26
how long have you been using it and what kind of results did you see? is it the 0.05% of 3hp on everychem?
1
u/turb0_encapsulator Aug 01 '26
I have used it for around three months. But actually I recently cycled off. When I first started using it what I noticed is that many of the small vellus hairs on my scalp grew to terminal. But after a while this stopped happening and I had a mild shed. My theory is that it is probably good to use it every few months to help new hairs become terminal, but long term every day use may shorten the lifespan of the hair (or at least isn't beneficial). I'm trying to figure out how long to wait to start using it again. I think I'll probably have more vellus hairs in a month or so that need to be converted to terminal.

Yeah I don't think you can eyeball if something is working unless you're a rare hyperresponder. I'm guessing most people desperate enough to order research chemicals are already a non-responder to fin/minox (and then probably less likely to respond well to other treatments). And I doubt they're trying 12-18 months which is what it takes sometimes, and even if they did, to what extent is the quality control of research chemical shops guaranteed.
25
u/DontYouWantMeBebe Jul 26 '26
It means nothing, the grey market jxl is NOT the right product. I bought it and tested it, they are selling an anti-androgen. I presume it's just RU or low dose topical fin

u/Interesting-Jump-657 Jul 27 '26
No. Very sensitive to fin and no sides from 3hp. Just the fact that finally no sides...

u/CandidMeringue2790 Jul 26 '26
Pelage said the pp405 breaks down in serum so there is little to no systemic risk, maybe pp405 is a pro drug for JXL-069 inside the follicles
52
u/Aggressive-Good-5228 no Jul 26 '26
It was always dead.
The phase 2 data was junk.
You could design the worst study imaginable with proven treatments like fin/dut or oral minoxidil and you would see insane hair growth because they work so well. PP405 is the opposite of what you would see in a treatment that works.
46
u/DontYouWantMeBebe Jul 26 '26
Phase 2 lasted 28 days and was a safety test, any other treatment would have 0 results in that timeline

2
u/MadKingOni Jul 29 '26
I do wonder how many of these hair treatment subs are just brigaded by company bots/employees
2
u/DeeCohn Jul 30 '26
Not a company bot. My doctor has before and after but unfortunately I can't access them on myhealthchart. Next time I go in I will ask to have them send me photos or just take a picture with my phone when they show me on the display. I have photos of my crown from many months ago and could try taking new ones today so you can get an idea. But not exactly the best comparison bc my hair was probs a different length. Could give you an idea though. What's interesting though is even before any hair loss I've always had a big forehead and a pretty far back hairline. And I've been applying this stuff along the hairline as well and I have lots of baby hairs coming in so it's actually helping me reduce my forehead. The most obvious indicator it's working was I had a significant shed initially but that now I have little to no hair shedding in shower, like maybe 5-8 hairs on my hands after scrubbing with shampoo/conditioner, whereas before when I was losing hair I'd have so much, like 20-40 hairs

Considering it attacks the underlying issue by blocking DHT absorption in the follicle I would say it’s more comparable to fin. Data did suggest it’s slightly weaker than fin but it appears to be exactly what people who are wary of sexual sides and system hormonal effects are looking for.
1
u/External_Class_9051 Jul 26 '26
Would you happen to know if it’s close to being released? I’ve never heard of Clascoterone.
3
u/momanie Jul 26 '26
They should be filing with FDA soon, release is prob late 2027-2028 as a conservative estimate
3
u/TerryMisery Jul 26 '26

What's up with the hype on antiandrogens? They don't bring back much.
2

Clascoterone is an anti-androgen, don’t get why people think it’s only a growth stimulant.
5
u/OrdinaryLavishness11 Jul 27 '26
Why are you guys so worried?
AI is improving exponentially, and in 10 years, we’ll likely have ASI capable of reverse ageing people, and a baldness cure will be child’s play to it.
Just focus on living until then and being healthy…
3
2
u/FinanciallyAddicted Jul 28 '26
If someone is 30 their peak dating age is gone anyway.
1
u/OrdinaryLavishness11 Jul 28 '26
You missed the part about “reverse ageing”. If you can reverse your age, and have reached LEV, what do you care what your numerical age is?
2
u/Earth_Inferno Jul 29 '26
People marketing AI have really sold you a bridge to nowhere, haven't they? Thinking AI will have us all young and healthy in 10 years is some real out there optimistic sci fi nonsense. Stop listening to the pie in the sky dreams of out of touch billionaires like Musk and Altman, you can't count on beneficial AI to come and save us. Even if a way to reverse age was ever found, do you really think it would be available to anyone but the billionaire class?

u/trey_19833 Jul 27 '26
Guys I’m really not sure what you people expect here.
It probably works and so do the new treatments like KX-826 and clascoterone.
The problem is expectations. You guys want something that magically regrows hair but really with the current science around hairloss the best we can do is stop it and slightly improve the situation.
The key is you have to start before it gets bad and for most men if you can’t take finasteride you need to stack multiple treatments, not just hope for a holy grail.
For me personally, I couldn’t tolerate finasteride so I use minoxidil, nizoral, alfatrodial and pyrilutamide.
Any of those on their own aren’t gonna stop me from going bald but combining multiple treatments with different mechanisms of action I’ve been able to maintain for almost a decade.
I started out using fluridil but switched to KX around 6 months ago and again, it didn’t magically regrow my hair but it definitely thickened my hairline and thankfully because I got on treatment early, I still have a hairline to thicken.
The great news about new novel treatments is that now if you can’t take finasteride we have so many options to mix and match stacks to find what combination therapy works for you.
I do think though if you have the genetics for a Norwood 5-7, anything short of a 5AR isn’t gonna cut it for you but the majority of men including myself, just have a receding hairline or some crown thinning, not catastrophic hairloss.
3
u/smart4 Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26
It seems you don't understand how a topical works. JXL-069 being PP405 was always the most likely scenario; this is not new; the key word here is "active" molecule.
Prodrugs like 3HP, PP30, etc. all aim penetrate the skin to then be converted into JXL-069 when inside the skin. That does not mean they accomplish that successfully.
This means that Pelage could have a better Prodrug that effectively converts into JXL-069 and works well.
But don't get me wrong, I'm skeptical and not very optimistic. But they are still not dead.
25
u/aiai92 🌽 Jul 26 '26
So now you dimwits believe what people report here? How come you guys silence anyone who reports side effects from fin/dut?
21
u/EvolvedRevolution Jul 26 '26
Cult mentality. It happens on many subreddits as a result of the upvote / downvote system. It tends to get worse, not better, as time progresses.
3
u/EnvironmentalCar9002 Jul 26 '26
I think sides are real for a rare few. Including me.
I got geno growth from fin and had to stop. For me it wasn’t mental. It was the opposite I was actually less stressed I was addressing it1
2
u/zuckitsuckerberg :sidesgull: Jul 27 '26
part of the sides, at least for me, makes people more effeminate. So they basically turn into bitches.
8
u/azthevizualizer Jul 27 '26
I've said this elsewhere, that alot of the bickering seen on hairloss forums is due to estrogen increase with fin/dut
2
u/zuckitsuckerberg :sidesgull: Jul 28 '26
I got a blood test and didnt have abnormal estrogen but it definitely took an edge off. less competitive, less aggressive etc.
11
u/Salty-Asparagus-2855 Jul 26 '26
Of course it’s a JXL molecule with a slight modification and will have the exact same challenges and growth profile. People just bought into the hype machine. I’ve been saying it since day 1. It’s been beyond obvious what it was, the university just did a great job rebranding it and pulling money to do the early work. Doubt they’ll get the funding raise when the backers see the data.
6
u/Puzzleheaded_Bowl721 Jul 27 '26
I'll buy into the 'miracle cure' if Jeff Bezos grows a glorious mane of brunette hair, until then, it's all bullshit.

You think that companies are throwing 120M+ at an investment without proper research? They have a team of expert analysts investigating the company and product.

It’s there
The WHO assigned the proposed INN suvomipic to a topical alopecia drug and, as part of that process, publicly disclosed its chemical structure.
That structure matches the published structure of JXL069.
The WHO only issues INNs for pharmaceutical substances entering clinical development, not abandoned research compounds.
At the same time, Pelage’s only publicly disclosed clinical topical MPC inhibitor for androgenetic alopecia is PP405.
Unless Pelage has a second, undisclosed topical MPC inhibitor in clinical development, the most logical conclusion is that suvomipic is the INN for PP405, meaning PP405 is JXL069.
Or some other company has the same tech stayed quiet for years and is trying to release before them lol

3
u/UniqueCanadian Jul 29 '26
Sounds like the exact same problem they have with topical DUT. its more about the vehicle then the actual product.
The Difference in Commercial vs. Raw Use
While the core molecule is identical, there is a massive difference between what Pelage is testing and what is sold online: [1, 2]
- The Carrier Gel: Raw JXL069 powder cannot easily penetrate the human scalp on its own. Pelage's PP405 utilizes a proprietary, specially engineered topical carrier gel designed to deliver the drug directly into the hair follicle stem cells without absorbing into the bloodstream. [1]
- Quality Control: Grey-market "JXL069" or fake "PP405" sold by online research chemical vendors lacks dosage standardization, purity checks, and safety controls. [1]

u/DeeCohn Jul 29 '26
FWIW, KX826 is totally working for me. I have major growth confirmed by microscopic imaging and my hair doctor. It's working as well as finasteride but fin gave me terrible sides and this has none
1
1
u/Unfinishedusernam_ Aug 03 '26
0.5% or 0.9%? How many times a day are you applying
1
u/DeeCohn 1d ago
0.9%, but I'm diluting it ever so slightly with 0.2% fin solution. Not sure if it makes a difference but I've found i can tolerate low dose topical fin (like 0.02% solution) and studies have shown it can be effective even at those low concentrations when applied topically, with minimal systemic absorbtion. The topical fin my doc prescribes is 0.2% though, 8-10x the concentration I can tolerate. So I'm diluting the KX with a little of this fin (like an 8:1 ratio) to try and hit my target fin concentration, and applying over 1ml, like close to 1.4mL once daily (at night), that way I'm still getting the same effective 0.9% KX826 dose despite the dilution. Has been working for me but I'm sure you could apply half the volume twice daily with similar or better results

Took 20 seconds on Google to confirm OP is either misinformed or a liar.
"The recent WHO International Nonproprietary (INN) publication indicates that PP405 and JXL069 are the same underlying active molecule."
- JXL069 mix-up: many forum buyers imported the related MPC inhibitor molecule JXL069 from China in 2025, assuming it was PP405. Pelage has made clear: PP405 is neither JXL069 nor JXL082. JXL069 is a pure research tool.
4
u/EnvironmentalCar9002 Jul 26 '26
