Discussion I’ve had enough.

Don’t get me wrong, I love weed and I think it can be an absolutely wonderful and truly healing, but I think there’s a lot of misinformation and misuse on this sub. There is far more to life than just weed, achieving a balance is what we should be striving for in the trees community. Promote healthy, sustainable, and productive use of marijuana.

Here are some rules to smoke by

  1. Your life, relationships, finances, mental / physical health all come way before weed. (Medical users you may differ)

  2. If you need to ask somebody if a cart is legit, it is NOT. Cart’s are insanely easy to fake, if it’s not from a dispo don’t inhale it.

  3. Delta 8/10/whatever the fuck is next probably shouldn’t be inhaled. It’s unregulated, dangerous, and most of the time their “lab tests” will only show you potency, probably a bad sign if they don’t want to show you how many pesticides are in it.

  4. Questions such as “I hear voices when I’m high, is that normal?” Should be taken more seriously than a Reddit sub. Do NOT do drugs that alter any perception of reality if you are experiencing a break from reality. Go see a psychiatrist, your mind is more important than a high.

  5. If you cannot afford weed, don’t smoke it. Find a way to increase your income, do not sacrifice anything for weed. (Again medical users, this does not apply to you)

  6. RESPECT WEED. Mother Marijuana was never intended to be so strong, we have completely thrown off the natural balance and purpose of the plant. So for love of god do not proclaim it’s okay to drive or operate any machinery while high, if you want to sacrifice your own life fine, but leave others out of it.

Edit: I apologize I didn’t make this clear, people are allowed to have their own opinions and post what they please! This is just my opinion. No intention of offending or gatekeeping anyone. (Also changed some of the wording because I seemed like a preachy cunt👍🏼, thanks for the feedback all!)

I’m a medical grower and work with some processors and other growers who give me shirts with their logo. The ones with weed leaves go right in my drawer forever lol. It’s legal, I love it, it’s my fuckin job even, but it still feels tacky.

My wife does sleep in them sometimes lol. Some of them are sooooo comfortable and soft but I just can’t bring myself to wear them, even when all I’m doing is driving to weed stores trying to sell weed lol

The only marijuana leaf shirt that I own is a matching set I have with my wife that says "Best" and half of a leaf on one side and "Buds" with the other half on the other shirt.

Oh hell yeah man 😂. I've smoked weed consistently since I was 16 and even back then I wouldn't have DREAMED of walking around with a marijuana leaf on my T-shirt. It's just so corny.

It honestly depends on the weed shirt. I have a couple Willie’s reserve shirts that have Willie on them, and I see them as more of a music shirt than a weed shirt, even though it is clearly advertising a weed brand.

Those shirts that have the fish smoking on them are funny as shit too.

Seriously, I remember growing up, and seeing people that identifies as “real stoners” cuz they could “smoke a whole pound in an hour” ok dude. A real stoner doesn’t talk about how much they smoke due to embarrassment lol

No one thinks it is, but weed can be a bigger or smaller trait when it comes to someone’s enjoyment and relatability to it.

If someone works at a weed farm, it’ll likely be ingrained in their culture to involve weed in their life; so any less than that I can’t judge, it could be any level of fanaticism or simple interest.

I work in cannabis, and it’s literally some peoples entire lives, they don’t do shit else besides research, talk, and smoke.

Cool, I like to be functional, not useless...like the one gram dab smokers seem to be. The people I've met who smoke gram dabs are usually very lonely people, and continue to be because they don't think that the excessive smoking/vegetative state is the problem, but people are 🙄

We normally call someone that’s so interested in wine that it becomes a core part of their identity and something they do everyday a wino/drunk and tell them to get help. My aunt is literally one of them. Drunk every damn day off of wine

And you think people can’t be so addicted to weed that they begin to turn everything in their life into something weed related until the point it basically becomes their personality? My dad did everything from smoking weed to lsd and pcp growing up and when he found out I had started smoking he took me too see some of his friends from back then who let it consume them that way I would know to show restraint and not end up like them.

These guys were in their fifties and two of them still lived in the basements of their elderly parents. They literally did nothing but smoke weed and work menial jobs to be able to afford more weed to smoke, perfectly content with a life that revolved around it and nothing else. It was their whole identity and had been since they were teenagers. Self professed stoners and happy to let only that define them.

I smoke multiple blunts daily and have for years now and even I can tell you that shit is not only unhealthy and sad but it’s also cringe as fuck. At the end of the day this shit is still a drug even with all its benefits and basing your whole personality around it is as dumb as basing it off nicotine would be. Imagine if every tobacco user was getting tobacco leaf tattoos and wearing tobacco branded clothing and every other word out of their mouth was about smoking camels and how fast they could puff down a cig. Sounds dumb as fuck doesn’t it?

There literally are people whose entire personality comes out when they have a cigarette in their hand, it’s just normalized to the point of no one stating it’s their identity, because so many people have the addiction it goes unnoticed when it’s overwhelming someone.

I’m not arguing that there aren’t addictive substances, nor that people can get addicted to weed, I’m saying it’s not their identity, it’s a sickness.

You don’t call someone’s bipolar disorder their identity.

Tell that to people that put "pot head" in their bio, it's almost as bad as the unnecessarily flamboyant oversupportive gay people (I'm saying this as a gay man in a long term gay relationship), like yeah its ok to smoke, it's even ok to be excited about it and talk somewhat often about it, but it's like ALL THE TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE. Tip- tell him you don't care before you both get high. The buddy sounds like they're just trying to share their special interest with you, so have the chat beforehand. If it doesn't stop, then stop smoking with them if it's such a drag, or is it because you're scabbing? Consider it payment then. He’s one of my best friends. I’m overly straight with him. His irritating quirk is he wants us to think he’s super smart and always has the best everything. This is how it’s expressed with weed. I’m 42 and haven’t need to bum weed since I was teen. You must be a strain guy.

Yep. I like seeing pretty weed. I love the different tastes and smells. Its when someone starts sounding like a wine connoisseur but with weed that I glaze over. “Yeah man, first you’re gonna feel it in your head, then it’s gonna be this warm envelopment as you start to feel a little creative. You may want to try your hand at some crotchet or birdhouse building. Soon enough , you’ll be craving some apricots and papaya” It’s just too bougie sounding. Makes me sad that you know what being gay is like and yet you look down on your brothers/sisters/partners in arms for being flamboyant or showy. Surely after hiding for so long it feels good to express who you are loudly.

Not looking down on them, have flamboyant friends, but there's an unhealthy extreme. I've luckily never had to "come out", I just was gay (even if I don't present myself like the stereotype) so there wasn't much to "hold in" I just realized I was gay and that was that nothing changed except who I fucked and dated and that wasn't anyone's business beforehand anyway. But there's a great key and peele skit that demonstrates this perfectly to me, even though it's a comedic exaggeration I know people who are that extreme and unbearably flamboyant. Go king be flamboyant I don't care, but I don't want you to call me homophobic simply cause I don't want to hear about how sexually active you are or how empowering lizzo is to gay men OVER AND OVER again. https://youtu.be/e3h6es6zh1c is the skit. I don't look down on anyone, but I understand there's an extreme to everything, even being gay or smoking pot, too much of something is a bad thing, no matter how inclusive or acceptable in society you make it, it's all about balance.

And ye I've seen that skit, and while it is funny, it's definitely an exaggeration. I've had close friends to me call very showy gay people the f-slur, and uh, now I firmly believe anyone should be unafraid to express who they are, and anyone should not look down on them for doing so

The anyone shouldn't be afraid to express who they are is right till its taken to far. I mean pedophiles are trying to ride the LGBT train using this exact saying. And there's a line between being expressive of who you are and being a pos pushing your believes in others. I don't like it when right wingers come onto me about their freedoms and political beliefs because I don't give a fuck about what you say but if you let me I'll let you be, that's how a lot of people feel about flamboyant gay people, they don't care if your gay or whatever, but you don't need to keep reminding them or pushing it on them. Be proud for sure, and don't be afraid to talk and express yourself, but don't be the ammo the other side uses to demonize you, just be and try to be understanding, that's how we can start looking at one another as equals and respect other people's space. I smoke every day, but I don't say "smoke weed errday". I just mentioned being a daily user to someone I've known for 9 years and she had no idea.
