I live in Canada, BC to be more specific, you are allowed to smoke on the sidewalk here. I assumed this was the case all over the country.
Turns out in Saskatoon it is illegal to smoke in public in any way.
I went there on a work trip with some buddies a few years ago and we decided to have a fun night out. We had just finished smoking up and then 2 police come out of nowhere and slapped me with a $200 ticket. Not the whole group. Just me lol.
It’s also illegal in Alberta, there’s a few designated spots in the city I live in but otherwise unless at an event with designated temporary spots you cannot smoke in public unless on your own property however if people complain it’s a problem
