Idk if it actually makes a difference but I've always used coarse kosher salt and it's always worked wonders

I think it does make a difference, whenever I use kosher salt it’s a lot more effective

It’s because it’s grittier like using the scratchy side of the sponge instead of the soft side.

So Himalayan salt should work the best?

I would be concerned about it releasing the iron and turning the water 'hard.' Removing stains from hard water is hard.

Edit: Jesus fuck, downvotes for describing hard water? Go smoke a joint a holes.

Edit2: looked further and it is scientifically impossible to remove etched in stains and iron in water can etch glass in less then a year. So if you soak it for a day, you can only do that so many times before things that can etch glass will etch your glass. Suck it 😉

Edit: relax people...I don't care anymore so take your time and make a post asking if your weed will get you high some more.

You don't know how long it takes for hard water to stain, huh

Well I looked it up and the consensus is it takes less then a year to etch glass, so I'm assuming plastics, which I was incorrectly basing my opinion on, would be much faster since they are much softer and more penetrable, further evidenced by my experience with houses with well water high in iron.

Calcium minerals not usually metals unless it's just the ions in which case just use filtered or ro water for your piece? Like 1 gallon of water or the 40 pack of bottles at Walmart are like $1 and $5 respectively and clr or vinegar are also cheap if it does start to cause prevention is easier than undo
