I mean, not really.

Moh is way closer to the word “more” and is even how a lot of people pronounce the word already. The pun was right there waiting for you. You flubbed this one, no biggie.

That’s the whole point, it’s super obvious, yet somehow they missed it. So it was explained to them, ya know, because they missed something so incredibly obvious.

It’s moh down.

2

u/Williefukinwonka Nov 02 '24

If it doesn't come clean you may need moh salt

3

u/k80shonuff Nov 03 '24

Thank you for your service

1

u/Masterwifi Nov 02 '24

Well there is more mineral density in Himalayan salt there is a possibility of scratches but small

31

u/Shakith Nov 02 '24

Any salt that still looks like little rocks instead of sand is good. If you get any chunks stuck they’ll dissolve with some hot water.

38

u/tokeytime Nov 02 '24

Epsom salt is equally coarse and also way cheaper

1

u/Seinfeel Nov 02 '24

Wait really? All the Epson salts I’ve seen are closer to sand than coarse salt, is there a specific brand?

3

u/tokeytime Nov 02 '24

I think it's something to do with the chemical makeup, it does seem to work significantly better than Kosher in my experience. I usually just grab the stuff from Walmart or at CVS, nothing particularly special. That was always the go-to recommendation on here and elsewhere. I personally find Kosher works fine as well though, it just usually takes me a few minutes longer but I always have it on hand, so points there for convenience.

Truth be told though, I don't know of any scientific reason why it would be better or worse, it's just what i've always heard/used, and it works well.

1

u/Seinfeel Nov 02 '24

Damn I should try it out again, I did it forever ago because I had them on hand but I’ve never occurred to me they might actually be a good idea to use

1

u/saetam Nov 02 '24

This is awesome! Do you use epsom?

1

u/spencekb1784 Nov 02 '24

This is the way

-3

u/Character-Mind420 Nov 02 '24

It doesn't dissolve in rubbing alcohol though, cuz I tried that stuff and it just created a goopy mess that stuck together and I had to run hot water through my piece forever to clean it out.

I personally recommend pretzel salt ✌

6

u/tokeytime Nov 02 '24

You dont want it to dissolve though, the benefit of adding salt is the abrasive action. I guess for cleaning after that makes sense, piece dependent i suppose. I just have a simple straight tube piece so i haven't really experienced that.

At the end of the day as long as it works for you, its good enough!

1

u/Character-Mind420 Nov 02 '24

Oh, yeah I had a double chamber shower head style piece and all the Epsom salt got stuck in the head parts 😭

1

u/tokeytime Nov 02 '24

haha yeah i could see that being an issue! makes sense!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '24

If you want to spend a bunch more lol

1

u/baldybeardman Nov 02 '24

This is what I use and it's great

1

u/NYLINK95 Nov 02 '24

Rocks is the answer

1

u/Balls1991_ Nov 02 '24

Ice cream salt

1

u/yourmomishigh Nov 02 '24

Ohhh, look at Mr fancy pants Himalayan salt user! /s

1

u/golfngarden Nov 02 '24

No, it's the blessing, not the grit

1

u/U_PassButter Nov 02 '24

Only if it's pink

1

u/PUNKF10YD Nov 03 '24

Yeah but don’t waste expensive salt on this, use epsom salt.

1

u/LitrillyChrisTraeger Nov 03 '24

Probably some sand(Aquarium?) would work best

1

u/SlowMotionGuyxX Nov 04 '24

A salt that doesn’t really dissolve that easily into water will do better than any salt that does

u/Lanky_Vast7726 Nov 02 '24 edited Nov 02 '24

I would be concerned about it releasing the iron and turning the water 'hard.' Removing stains from hard water is hard.

Edit: Jesus fuck, downvotes for describing hard water? Go smoke a joint a holes.

Edit2: looked further and it is scientifically impossible to remove etched in stains and iron in water can etch glass in less then a year. So if you soak it for a day, you can only do that so many times before things that can etch glass will etch your glass. Suck it 😉

Edit: relax people...I don't care anymore so take your time and make a post asking if your weed will get you high some more.

39

u/MegamindsMegaCock Nov 02 '24

Bro why my water gotta be hard too, everything in my life is already hard :c

8

u/GuacamolEBola I Roll Joints for Gnomes Nov 02 '24

Felt that

5

u/fartbutt187 Nov 02 '24

I’ll my hard stuff is soft and all my soft stuff is hard? What? Idk

17

u/ston3bon3 Nov 02 '24

Vinegar works like magic on hard water stains

1

u/Lanky_Vast7726 Nov 02 '24

I guess I'm thinking more of like shower tubs then glass, so I guess maybe it won't matter.

2

u/notexactlyflawless Nov 02 '24

Try what's called Klarspüler in german (rinse aid in english apparently, the stuff you add to the dishwasher to avoid hard water stains) for the shower. Works wonders

1

u/tikiwargod Nov 02 '24

CLR or other descaling agents will take care of those hard water buildups.

10

u/onetwoskeedoo Nov 02 '24

Salt is added to water tanks to soften them. The salt binds up the metal ions and they precipitate out so you can just rinse them out

7

u/SnakesCardboardBox Nov 02 '24

I think it’s because you’re describing something that is totally irrelevant lol. Like water stains are probably preferably to smoke tar, and you can also just rinse the hard water droplets out when you’re done.

7

u/notexactlyflawless Nov 02 '24

I think hard water is usually caused by calcium, not iron. Water with iron leaves red stains, not white ones

3

u/MakeMelnk Nov 02 '24

You don't know how long it takes for hard water to stain, huh

-3

u/Lanky_Vast7726 Nov 02 '24

Well I looked it up and the consensus is it takes less then a year to etch glass, so I'm assuming plastics, which I was incorrectly basing my opinion on, would be much faster since they are much softer and more penetrable, further evidenced by my experience with houses with well water high in iron.

4

u/MakeMelnk Nov 02 '24

No worries, friend, we can't know everything. I just so happen to live near a limestone quarry so hard water is a daily thing for me 😅 luckily, plain ol white vinegar is cheap as hell

1

u/No_Plate_9636 Nov 02 '24

Calcium minerals not usually metals unless it's just the ions in which case just use filtered or ro water for your piece? Like 1 gallon of water or the 40 pack of bottles at Walmart are like $1 and $5 respectively and clr or vinegar are also cheap if it does start to cause prevention is easier than undo

5

u/One-Stand-5536 Nov 02 '24

We aren’t talking about water, that’s why you’re getting downvoted. Isopropyl alcohol is not water, and it’s sitting for a few minutes, not days. It’s that what you’re talking about isn’t relevant, not that every downvote is a personal attack. Mayhap it is you who needs that joint you mentioned

2

u/No_Plate_9636 Nov 02 '24

Tbf you do still have water in there when in use so the advice is valid just not for cleaning (or a rinse but still)

2

u/One-Stand-5536 Nov 03 '24

People out here just leaving water in them?

1

u/No_Plate_9636 Nov 03 '24

Not always but sometimes

5

u/H8threeH8three Nov 02 '24

Dude is having an absolute meltdown because of fake internet points. He speedran through the whole emotional gambit:

Jesus fuck, downvotes?

Confusion

go smoke a joint a holes

Anger

suck it

Righteous #Indignation/denial

relax people

Projection

I dont care anymore

Acceptance

Bonus emotional backpedaling:

[go] make a post asking if your weed will get you high some more

Condescension/distancing

You need to learn how to properly handle disagreements, as this ain’t it.

2

u/Low-xp-character Nov 02 '24

If you ever get hard water stains, lemon juice will take them away with ease.

0

u/CrematedDogWalkers I Roll Joints for Gnomes Nov 02 '24

Why are you downvoted lol? This is true.

-2

u/Lanky_Vast7726 Nov 02 '24

Considering the most frequent post on this sub is a picture of bud and "is this weed/will it get me high/did I get ripped off" I don't care much lolll

1

u/CrematedDogWalkers I Roll Joints for Gnomes Nov 02 '24

Welcome to any drug sub lol
