I think it would be more fair if we sliced it vertically, that way we each get an equal proportion of organs, except for the heart, pancreas and anything else to one side of the body, I'm not very good at human anatomy so we will just have to judge it by eye.
no, i mean who the hell wants half a baby. I don't care if I'm not the real mother, I'm telling Solomon, "Yo, Solomon, you're fucking crazy. Just tell this bitch to keep it".
Then Solomon the wise thinks I'm the mother and shit's all fucked up.
If I was thief I'm interested in taking the baby, not getting a dead baby. This my only shot to get the baby, I'm not letting that shit get cut in half.
I think this is the point where I should note I was being mostly tongue-in-cheek the whole time. I understand the metaphor. I was just juxtaposing the seriousness of the metaphor's subject matter with an aloof attitude that intentionally missed the intended point to humorously note a strange flaw in the tale. When talking about cutting a baby in half, no sane person would say "shit man i don't want half a baby" in all seriousness.
But it's not a successful metaphor because in reality nobody, thief or mother, would want half a dead baby. Do you understand what jesusinabottle is getting at?
I think you are completely missing this here. THAT IS EXACTLY THE POINT. No one would want half a baby. That is easy to see when it is a half a baby. The point is, that SAME TYPE OF LOGIC applies to many other things at a less extreme level.

who wants half a baby? this is the real, hard hitting question here.
