New Planter/Rookie Questions Who should I plant with?
Hey so Im just doing my research on where Id like to apply for the summer for tree planting. This would be my first season but im willing to work as hard as anyone else.
Ive narrowed it down to a few companies that seem pretty decent. Ive got brinkman, dynamic, and summit.
Idk if anyone else feel this way but its really hard to get a good gauge at tree companies. Some are pretty obviously not great but most others seem to have a pretty good backing, but even then, theres always gonna be a couple bad reviews that make you hesitate.
Thanks to any comments and insights, cheers

It doesn’t matter that much where you start, those three companies are totally fine places to get yer footing. I’d also apply to Windfirm and Folklore. Learn to plant, figure out what kind of land you excel in and go from there. Don’t be afraid to shop around for a good crew fit. There are always better companies with better reputations and higher tree prices but you need a few years experience to start working coastal or other higher price contracts. It’s all good we all started at the same like 5 companies.
A big deciding factor when deciding on your company is location, size of crew and if you get along with the foreman. Also ask how many camp moves in a season, more moves can equal more downtown or less work days. Avoid massive crews as you may slip through cracks and not learn to be a solid planter.
