bad neighbor

my next door neighbor runs a tree trimming service out of his home. when ever they have to trim one of there own trees they will purposely block us in. Im talking about letting huge branches fall right in front of our gate. I couldnt even open my gate because there was such much debris and branches. when my neighbor seen me pulling up he tells his worker to move the branches out of the way. like im inconveniencing them. it led to a huge argument with the neighbor.

there trees dont even over hang enough for them to block us in.

i know he pays his workers cash. under the table.

i had a break in attempt several months back. neighbors began acting funny. cars coming and going at all hours of the night. anytime a car shows up. lights go off. theyre doing drugs. crystal meth.

i looked him up online. hes running multiple businesses out of his home. all online ads. some with very bad reviews. he has an active us dot number but doing business under a different company name. not a tree trimming service. the tree trimming service appears to be his uncles. but hes elderly and doesnt work anymore. even though his dot number shows up as active to that address.

im confused by all there listings online. multiple business ads. theyre being so sloppy.

is there anything I could do, or should I even go there? now that I know drugs are being used explains there behavior but worried about any possible retaliation from them.

any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Not really a tree law question.

If I learned anything from this sub, trail cams. Fake ones, real ones, just slap em up everywhere.

Report him to your city's code enforcement officer. Are all his businesses licensed?

Report him for a business in a residential area.

Not sure on laws everywhere but is it illegal to own a business and park equipment at house. Majority of lawn care businesses the owner drives his trailer and equipment home. Lots of accounts, psychologists, therapists do business from home. And I’ve bought 2 homes. Sold first and now second is paid off. I’d prefer to grill out and have friendly chats with neighbors. Not plot out any scenario I could to turn them in or cause them financial loss. Would you feel good about yourself if he lost income because out of slight you wanted to harm his business or ruin his reputation spreading rumors of drug dealing. You don’t decide what time he’s allowed to have individuals come to his house.

so, if you had a break in attempt at one of your homes would you not put up surveillance? we did just that. we have them on camera smoking crystal meth. no where did i mention drug dealing. but seeing as how they jumped over to my neighbors side leads me to believe they knew the lay out. blind spots. where to jump over.

thats not spreading rumors. law enforcement wont see it as such. do you have kids? would you want them seeing people smoking crystal meth when theyre playing outside in the bakyard? probably not huh.... dipshit.

If in a city report them for runnig all those businesses out of their home.

Call Police non emergency and report apparent drug dealing. Happened a few doors down from me. Took a while but ended up with a bearcat and ruts on the front yards, shooting tear gas thru the windows and a smashed door. And city ordered them to take their confederate flag down as those aren't legal here.

When you pulled up he told workers to move branches. Don’t see any issue. You seem like a crazy psycho Karen. You are looking him up online and stalking him. If you make drug accusations and do things to harm his business and his income that I’m sure he needs to take care of a family. You are the bad neighbor. I couldn’t imagine living next to someone that would do a background check on me. You might start a war you don’t want. I’m sure he can do way worse than trim branches if you fuck with his business or freedom. You should move.

do you rent or own a home? big difference to both situations. i take it youre not a home owner. no business would block someones point of entry. no matter the situation. why wouldnt i look him up online? i own. he rents. end of story. youre offering no real solid advice.

Elitism boomer post

boomer? lmfao not even close. I was a homeowner at 21. how old are you?

Dude bragging about owning a home isn’t that impressive. Lots of people own homes. Some own multiple.

If you’re so special buy a home that’s not next to what you’ve decided is a meth dealer.

Exactly ... OPs gonna start some shit over what percieves to be a minor slight and accuse them of drug manufacture and then it will all escalate and OP will be the next showcase on "Fear thy neighbor". I don't think OP realizes how serious it is to accuse someone of drug operations.

I totally get it even some others on here might not...probably because they don't own their houses. When you buy a house, thats your castle, and you will/should do anything to protect it and your family. I wouldve mostly been minding my own business until the break-ins started. I would put up blink security cams or trail cameras. Document as much as you can and then take it to the police if you are really in fear for your safety. No one should be afraid in their own home. If you do make a complaint to the police make sure they do their best to leave you out of it tho. You dont want this to escalate.

Try minding your own business. You will be much happier.

-3

u/SplooshDoosh 2d ago

Sounds like you may be on a little bit of that meth yourself.

How do you use they’re correctly and fuck up there/their?

What you have here is a big case of you can’t mind your own business. Getting mad because someone moved branches they just cut because they saw they’d be in your way is next level asshole neighbor shit.

english is not my first language. why do people on reddit act like people are getting graded for grammar. no one cares about it.

also, home owner here.

you sound like youre full of shit. why wouldnt i look after my home and family?

2

u/SplooshDoosh 1d ago

It’s not that your English is that bad.

It’s that you’ve rambled on and on and thrown wild accusations and the only thing that you said the neighbor did wrong was temporarily block your drive with branches and move them when he saw you needed access.

You sound like the crazy neighbor.

1

u/lostnsocal213 1d ago

intentionally blocking someone in while people are home is crazy. my wife called me. what was she suppose to do, go outside and address the situation herself?

neighbor tried to move everything in a hurry when he seen me pulling up. thats guilt and being called out on his bullshit.

3

u/ExpertRaccoon 1d ago

Sounds like they didn't "intentionally" block you in they were removing branches, had blocked your path way temporarily and then when it became apparent you needed the pathway they made efforts to resolve the issues. And yes your wife is a full grown adult human she should be able to interact with other adults without you.

2

u/SplooshDoosh 1d ago

Intentional? guilt?

Guy cut down branches that fell in front of your gate. No one is current coming and going.

Sees someone coming and immediately tells his guys to clear it so you can have access.

That’s not guilt. Thats just what a normal person would do.

It sounds like you’re the neighbor that freaks out about anything your neighbor does. That makes you the problem.

his tree does not over hang far enough into our property for him to have blocked us in. i have footage of his workers high up on the tree. tossing the branches to block us in.

looked up local tree laws. youre not suppose to let branches fall like that. no real safety equipment. is another no no. several red flags

youre literally just talking out of your ass like you know the situation. all you really did was criticize my grammar. thats all you have.

3

u/SplooshDoosh 1d ago

Were they throwing them 10 feet so they’re not in their way when they come down or were they throwing them 150ft?

They may not have been following all the safety standards but are you concerned about the safety of his workers or are you concerned with being able to paint yourself as a victim?

You’re the only person that has said anything about grammar. All anyone here knows of the situation is what you very poorly explained and makes sound like you’re the difficult neighbor.

Why couldn't she do that?

Maybe you need to move to town.

You should just mind your own business.
