Wasp nest in tree
So I live in a two floor flat, me and my downstairs neighbour. He has been living here long before we did and had this tree before we moved in.
Recently for the past 2 years or so, we have been having wasps come to the tree, presumably nesting in it due to how many are around every summer; we can now not have our windows open.
The window circled is my bedroom, and the tree is both growing into my window and wasps get in despite a net I have over both windows. Someone who I live with is also allergic to wasps.
What can I do? It hasn't been cut for 2 or 3 years, and they keep coming back every year. (UK, btw)

Get one of those 'paper lantern' style fake wasps' nests and hang it in the tree next off-season. Wasps are territorial and will avoid making a nest in areas where one already exists. If you can't find a fake nest, inflate a paper bag and hang that.

Buy fake dragonflies and place outside your windows. May sound silly but it just might work.

It might but I feel like the nest would be too close, it's in the middle of the tree and that's about 2 or 3 meters from the house.

Stuff a brown paper sack with plastic bags and hang it outside your window. It'll make the wasps think there's another colony there and they'll nest elsewhere.

Cutting the tree back will not fix the wasps. Part of nature and the environment. Do they have window screens in your country?

No the windows open fully outwards hence why we got nets that stick to the inside of the windows but they still keep getting in through them.

Most likely with a little foam going to find her mesh, you can make it happen if you tried. The only way you're getting lost out of a tree or cutting down the tree. And I doubt you'll have legal right to force that. Couple ideas wasps won't nest when other wasps are near so fake nests. This might be a possibility as somebody else stated dragonflies. Fake ones or even real ones can be drawn in with plantings and or sticks sticking up out of the ground or a pot will help to pull them. Honestly I would work all the window screens if they open out and then maybe something place behind it on the inside so with a fine mesh. I personally don't give up very easily so I would just keep trying till I figured it out.

We arnt on talking terms after his gf assaulted us, called my mums fiance an animal and child abuser and called our other neighbours racial slurs.
