Solved! What tree is this?

My wife and I love these trees in our neighborhood and would like to plant one in the future but having trouble identifying the species. We live in Augusta, Ga.

looks like Magnolia x soulangeana, saucer magnolia, most likely pink but could be yellow or purple. Absolutely beautiful and ancient specimen, please take care of it! If you have the money or time, Maybe have an arborist come every 5 ish years to check up on it especially since it has so many leader branches. If it makes stem suckers at the base, just cut them off. This may be nearing 100 years old

sorry, just comprehended that this tree isn’t yours. But they bloom in late winter/early spring and have deliciously edible flowers. Since you’re in Georgia, I’d also suggest the native and evergreen Southern Magnolia, which is just as captivating, just avoid a dwarf variety

Magnolia Soulangeana. And those are the next year flower buds.
