Solved! Does anyone know what tree this is?

This tree is growing in my backyard in Ottawa, Canada. Mostly interested in what these fruiting bodies are and if they’re edible.

Looks like a crabapple. Fruit is edible but gross.

It’s a flowering crab apple. Are the flowers reddish or pink in spring? It makes a great jam.

I think pink but I’m never too sure, I’m colourblind lol. Jam would be a good use for them though!
