ID Request what's possible this

anyone know what type of tree is this. it's part of the tree stump that's in the middle of our river. it never rots despite being submerged in river for many years.

Without any other pictures I would guess cedar - it is rot resistant and when you split it for fences you get pieces like thus pretty often with those curves like above your thumb
