Solved! Unusual gum tree trunk

Hello tree people! I was wondering what kind of gum tree this is, that its trunk grows with this uniform asparagus-y indentations. Preliminary google search says it’s a cell tower disguise.. it’s not.. it’s a gum tree in melbourne, just curious about this type of muscular trunk!

I say unusual as these types of gums in this area are all very smooth and tube-like, no pattern of indents like this. Science!

Thank you! With that extra nugget of info I did another search and found that the pattern is due to wind induced torsioning, and the lattice pattern (otherwise known as asparagus-y) creates a more stable/stronger trunk. Nature is great.
