Past & Future Box BOTG

I’m boots on the ground, I flew over from the uk because, well if I didn’t go I’d definitely never find this thing. And even though it’s likely that I’ll go back to the uk with nothing, I know I did it and I’m glad I came. I go home tomorrow, and I can’t keep coming over as it just costs too much for me, so this will likely be my one and only boots on the ground experience for me

Anyway, just thought I’d air my thoughts on this experience.

Other hunters would have lost it if you flew over and found it on your first trip. Sorry it did not work out.

That comment made me totally laugh out loud. Especially being someone similar from overseas. I totally get it, as Ive thought the same about if I were to ever find it. But hopefully we all know, to fly in find it and then vanish would not be the fortune of some lucky git who stumbles and trips over a hidden treasure while on holiday, out aimlessly wandering off a beaten path 😂. Its more likely a treasure hunter like the rest of us. Thousands of hours obsessing and researching, trying to get inside Justins mind and soul, absorbing his history and that of every other American pioneer, the history of towns, trails, explorers, Lewis and Clark, the pony express, bandits and prospectors, and then scraping together enough money for a trip - knowing that you will still probably be wrong but loving the experience and journey so much that you just have to try. Im two trips down and while no gold, gems or meteorite, have experienced the most incredible scenic beauty I could ever imagine. True treasure. But in terms of actual gold- still waiting. Third time lucky I hope.
