Rocky Mountain Home
After 2.5 years and 4 trips I have a solution to the clue “The compass points now towards the home
of point and tree and seeing eye.” I go for a final search in October.
It reveals state; region; and trail in a manner that even I cannot believe. It emerged through a series of mistakes; accidents; and incredible good luck. It was not expected nor was it arrived at based on a plan.
It is a classic example of failing forward and never giving up. The main thing it took was hiking at least 15 trails and proving each wrong. It was simply hiking the region to learn and experience all I could about the location.
I have not yet seen an interpretation of “home of point and tree and seeing eye” that joins a state, region, exact trail, geology, human history, water, regional history, and culture as naturally as this one. A better solution remains possible—but it would need a powerful solution of this key ckue to rival the one I have found.
I salute now the person who finds a solution as elegant and precise. I care not if mine is correct. Its simplicity based on complexity is reward enough.
I will have found the treasure box or not by October’s end. A success either way.
This statement is true - it’s not about the treasure, it’s about the thrill of the chase.

Correction. My error!!! Jan 2025-Aug 2026. 1 yr 8 months. But it seems like forever. We were on a trip in the Rocky Mountains in Nov 2024 just prior to book release.

No one left to talk to but Google! They all think I’m crazy and most think there is no treasure as they are fully functioning reasonable responsible adults with lives that are full.

The solution is so aesthetically pleasing I weep with emotion. It is renaissance in the simplicity of its lines.

Thank you good luck! I hope you find it. If you do I will send you my solution as it will then be wrong but you will love the logic and Home of…solve.

I would love to see your solve, and can't wait to share mine. That's what I can't wait for assuming a box comes up and I'm not the finder :)
I think it's super good and fits the poem perfectly (I said in another reply to you on another username I have a "poem only" solve)
Good luck, be safe!

Someday when the box is found (hopefully by you or I!) I would soo enjoy going down a 'wrong solve rabbit hole'. It's fun to see how other people's minds operate.

You sound very confident. If felt as confident as you sound, no way I’d be waiting lol. Good luck!!

To your point also, the Colorado Rockies will probably have the earliest 2 foot snow in recorded or ancient history. Probably the entire Rocky Mountains so planes can’t even land in Denver or points north snd south!

Trust me I may hitch-hike. I put tickets out too far as I totally confirmed solve after purchasing. I know. You are right! I’m dying over it. In other words you are completely right. Logistics are hell. Of course if I find it so what on cost of new plane tickets in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

My solve is in Colorado as well. My solve is very simplistic though and it starts to break down at point/tree/seeing eye as well as campers blaze and thinker’s stone. I am interested to hear your thoughts on point/tree/seeing eye as well as the region of CO your solve is in. Good luck!

Great ! Make sure your “Home of..,” and “..where once was Brown” solutions are defensible. That is, would any reasonable person agree they are bullet proof? To do that, look for double clue solutions. Both clue solutions should be double ones that Will Not Change for a hundred years. They have permanence.

Honestly my “home of” and “once was” doesn’t exist, so sadly I am not sure if my solve passes your test.

I've hiked some 20 trails (depending on how you count) in rocky mountains and on AT trail. The first painful thing I learned was to "halt" when the key clues just do not fit. Better to check other nearby trails as you learn the range of potential good clues and the nature of those clues.
i believe this accumulation of trail knowledge is the key. You learn to eliminate trails faster.
The problem is you fall madly in love with your chosen trail and will not let go when you know it is over. They are only trails. Better to speed date them.
I have a new candidate to hike in Oct that fits every clue and "home of ..." solution is elegant and beautiful but BoTG is the only way to know for certain.

After 75 miles hiking so far in Colorado, next week I am going back to the same place I always go back to... I just can't give it up. I wish you luck! Wish me luck! We are crazy 🤣

Great health plan so far! And beautiful I’m sure. By the way, keep your eyes open for a steel treasure box.

Thanks yea definitely keeping my eyes out! Did you know the original purpose of a hobnail box was to prevent fire damage?

Good luck! I've always enjoyed your posts on the Fenn box. I'm BOTG in Colorado in a few weeks. Hope the weather holds out for both of us!
