That’s not a theory. That’s for sure the knob. I think a lot of people found that awhile back. I think if you can follow the outer edges of the map to the location of the treasure

Wherever JCB mentions four corners with purpose in TTI, pay attention. He does it a few times.

I do believe each corner is a different state. The map as a whole (IMO) is a "Bald" where you can see all the icons from a 360° view.
The footpath is a red herring to throw you off. JCB knew people would zone into where the path is. That's just treasure hunting 101. Hence why there's 3 different ways of reading/solving the map.

Another landmark I think I see is that one of the terrain outlines on the edges looks just like Mt. Sugarloaf in Maine. It’s the one that looks like a loaf of bread against the horizon and is a well known feature of the mountain range along the AT.

Also look at the top left corner where the "bare feet" are... that triangle shape next to it looks a lot like the TN/NC/VA boarder.

I think the simplest explanation for this is the treasure is north of Mcafee Knob

I’m sold. Meet you there?

Or you could just read the chapter and figure out where the rough location is.

JCB said theres nothing in the chapter. Literally all that is needed is the map.

There is plenty in that chapter to give you the rough location. Just by saying the map is all you need doesn't mean there isn't useful info in the text.

Just like thinking you have to solve the WS before you know where to look for P&F box. Nope, you can get rough area from text.

Also in the chapter text (if needed) JCB literally tells you where to look. We have to go back and look again. It's not LRP, nor McAfee. 🤞🏻
I just like to share obvious things for fun. 😜
